(House Judiciary Committee 8.4.99) Family research apparently has accused the administration that the new law, in regard to being gay, would outlaw fundamental truth held by people of faith. This prompted a hearing by the judicial committee. The new law swings the doors wide open for law suits and insurance claims. Attorneys and witnesses were present at this meeting and interrogated by the committee to elicit ramifications for the justice department in the future. Professor Baker stated the following: "it would be "illegal" for a person to express that homosexuality is wrong in a court situation which means that the "family research" accusation that this new legislation would outlaw fundamental truth held by people [is based on fact]." The meeting ended at that point. This comment was trying to be made but squelched repeatedly because it was a public meeting. The audience was slightly intimidated to be in the presence of the committee.
JEWS FOR JESUS WEB AD OFFENDS (Charisma, October 1999) Online service providers Lycos Inc. will not renew an Internet advertisement by Jews for Jesus after receiving complaints from some Jewish people, the company announced. The objections came from people who discovered the ad for a free Jews for Jesus book while searching for sites containing the word "Jewish," the Associated Press reported. When browsers clicked on the ad, a Web page for Jews for Jesus appeared. Jews for Jesus officials said they were disappointed that their message was being restricted. "The Web is supposed to be a marketplace for all kinds of ideas," said spokeswoman Susan Perlman, "and people can click on them or pass them by."
Email (research): "I did want to pass on some information
to let you know how right you are in the above mentioned article
about the mantra "HA" being a gateway into a realm where
no true Christian should dare tread. During last week, my husband
and I were watching a program on cable TV (we're in Australia)
about a New Age/Spiritualist Festival in the United States. It
was all about the different kinds of "spirituality"
on offer, from spirit guides to Stargate meditation pyramids.
One woman was a "channeller", and told the camera crew
that she could "channel" up to 240 different spirit
guides. She even performed this for the crew. She also does a
lot of "aura healing", and the similarities between
her technique and what we see in a lot of today's church was astounding.
She stood behind one young man after touching him on the forehead
and "praying" over him, and as she moved her arms in
a cyclic motion behind him, he fell down into her arms and she
lay him on the floor. What she did next was even more mind boggling
in light of your article about Rodney Howard-Browne and "HA".
She "channeled" one of her guides, an Indian female
spirit (Indian, as in India the country). This guide was delighted
to share her thoughts on receiving revelation and higher enlightenment
on the spirit world. She was quite coy when asked about the mantra
needed in order to be able to enter this "other realm",
and said "it's a secret, I can t tell you". After just
a few moments however, she shared that "Oh, all right, this
is the mantra. Ha, Ha, HA. You just keep saying that mantra and
you too will also be able to speak to the spirits." Say no
More!
(Email research group): one of the ladies wrote the following:
"About a month ago I was watching a TBN broadcast (For resource
only!) and Creflo Dollar was on. He is a word-faith teacher, he
has a big church in Atlanta and preaches pure heresy! During his
preaching he said " I feel the anointing coming on, Oh I
feel it, and he went on and on. Then he started laughing and saying
HA HA HA HA , Ha HA HA, and I said to myself, he sounds just like
RHB [a research she had read about communication with demonic
spirits]. I said to my husband, he is calling on the spirits!!
DEMON SPIRITS!!!! All of a sudden people were running up
And dropping money on the floor in front of him. The congregation
was in total chaos. They were running up and down, jumping, waving
and laughing. It was unbelievable to watch. I think though, this
is only the beginning of what is about to come. If anyone had
ever told me that people could be taken in by this nonsense, I
would not have believed it! But then again, that is why Jesus
spoke these words, "For there shall arise false Christs,
and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, inasmuch
that, "if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."

(Charisma Magazine: October 1999) David Wilkerson Blasts Faith
Preachers in Sermon. In a sermon preached six months ago and circulated
widely on cassette tapes, NY pastor David Wilkerson blasts prosperity
doctrines, "holy laughter" and the flamboyance of evangelist
Benny Hinn. In Wilkerson's April 11 sermon, titled "Reproach
of the Solemn Assembly," Wilkerson warned his 7,000-member
Times Square Church to burn books written by any propagators of
these doctrines. He also told his parishioners to stay away from
evangelist Rodney Howard-Browne's Good News New York (GNNY) crusades
that ran from July 7 to Aug. 14. The GNNY campaign reported more
than 48,000 decisions for Christ, the majority of them first-time
salvation.

EVANGELIST RODNEY HOWARD-BROWNE (Tampa Tribune 6.27.99) Rodney
Howard-Browne and his wife, Adonica established the Rodney Howard-Browner
Evangelistic Association in Louisville, KY and live in a mansion
is Tampa, Florida. Hank Hanegraaff criticized Howard-Browne as
being "nothing but a good stage hypnotist." The Tampa
Tribune picked up on it and printed a full page about the crusade
in New York and comments made by Hanegraaff. Laura Corson was
so struck after seeing Howard-Browne a few years ago in New Hampshire
that she quit her teaching job and moved to Tampa to attend his
River Bible Institute. The three-year program trains evangelists
for pastoral and missionary work. "When he prays for me,
there's such a power from God that flows through him that it overcomes
me and I can't stand on my feet," says the 25-year-old nanny.
"To the mind it seems strange. Why would God want people
to laugh and cry and things like that? But when you are healed
deep inside your and spirit, there's a release that comes.
Hank Hanegraaff's blood boils, when he hears these statements.
President of a nonprofit countercult ministry, he stated: "What
Howard-Browne is doing is not harmless. He is using sociopsychological
manipulation tactics to make people think they've encountered
God." He warns people of this false prophet. "So many
people who come through the front door of "revivals"
end up falling out the back door into the kingdoms of the cult."
"Howard-Browne "..is not leading us into a great awakening
.. but a great apostasy."
Holy laughter is no joke to some. It breaks out occasionally even
in Pentecostal-charismatic churches. Some belief it is from the
Holy Spirit but Hank Hanegraaff claims it is one the most bizarre
trends of esoteric experiences."
Howard-Browne made the "whole" front page with a picture
of himself as the Holy Ghost Bartender (Ibid., 6.27.99).
Rodney claims that Dr. Billy Graham came to him in a dream in
February 1998 to take Billy Graham's place in the crusades. The
arena held 19,000 but his average was 3,000 a night. He failed
to catch New Yorker's attention. His expectations were high, he
had 13 million tickets printed up which were handed out by teams
of volunteers. (Ibid., 8.12.99)
(Discernment Ministries Letter dated 8.21.99) Dear Friends:
It was indeed a great encouragement to listen to a recent tape
from Times Square Church. Dave Wilkerson is to be commended for
his courage to take a stand for truth! The message can be found
transcribed in this month' newsletter. Many Christians are feeling
that we are in times of great change. Yes, things are rapidly
changing around us, but if our feet are planted on the Solid Rock,
we are secure! Recent happenings at the General Council of the
Assemblies of God bear out the changes out that are even re-shaping
denominations. As most of you know, a Resolution was taken to
the General Council by some of the Southern New England pastors
who are concerned that the Assemblies of God maintain Biblical
integrity in view of the "changes" that are transpiring.
The following is first hand report on the reception of that Resolution.
Keep in mind that Resolution was entitled, "A Return to Biblical
Integrity"!
"The Resolution entitled, "A Return to Biblical Integrity
(Resolution 16) came before the Council on the last day of business
which was Friday, the 13th of August. One of the authors of the
Resolution noticed that the Resolution booklet contained only
Resolutions 1-15. The booklet had been printed prior to adding
Resolution 16 to the General Council agenda. It was requested
therefore, that Resolution 16 also be made available to the Council.
That was not forthcoming.
On Friday at about 3:30 p.m., the Resolution Committee Chairman,
read the text of the Resolution and immediately informed the Chair
that he had a motion to present to the body. The motion called
to POSTPONE Resolution 16 indefinitely and to have the doctrinal
purity committee write a position paper on the concerns raised
by Resolution 16. The motion was seconded and some debate ensured.
The Chair would only allow debate on the motion to postpone indefinitely.
This Parliamentary move effectively ruled out any dialog concerning
Resolution 16 itself.
Three of the signers did attempt to speak against the move to
postpone indefinitely. One was allowed to complete his statement,
two were ruled against. They were not allowed to finish their
comments and their microphones were turned off in mid-sentence.
Discernment Ministry's letter stated, that their director resigned
from the Assemblies of God in 1998 because there did not seem
to be a place for those who did not want to be part of the overwhelming
tide of the new Ecumenicalism, Latter-Rain and Third Wave teachings.
The new "Spiritual Warfare" with Global Mapping, Deliverance
Ministries with generational curses being cast out of "demonized"
Christians and the rise of Prophets and Apostles is seemingly
become quite "normal" in many circles of the Assemblies
of God, Church of God and other Pentecostal denominations. Many
members are still holding to the truth and are trying their utmost
to maintain Godly integrity in the midst of confusion.
(Discernment Newsletter) "Recently I watched a video from a "prophetic" conference held in Colorado Springs in January 1999. Thousands of people were present, as they believed they were on the "cutting edge" of the "new Things" God is doing. As the different recognized "prophets" gave their "words" - THEY LED THE LISTENERS INTO THE SUPERNATURAL REALM. They said they witnessed HOSTS OF GOLDEN ANGELS the place. The offering in one meeting netted $474,000.00. A "prophetic word" was given to a leader that millions of dollars would be thrown at his feet. Since it costs $150.00 just to register, one wonders if it shouldn't be called a "profit conference."
(Old Christian News, October 25, 1999) A conference featuring three prominent Christian leaders will be broadcast live on the Internet this weekend. Touched by an Angel creator Martha Williamson, Prison Fellowship founder Charles Colson, and author William Bennett will speak at "The Christian Mind in the New Millennium" in Colorado Springs Oct. 15-17. The conference is based on Colson's 1999 book How Now Shall We Live? (Tyndale), and deals with how Christians should think and live in a culture that is fundamentally at odds with the Gospel. Coverage will be webcast on the Christian site crosswalk.com from 7:45 p.m. Mountain Time on Oct.15 through noon Oct. 17.1999.
Martha Williamson, producer of Touched by an Angel, has become
spokesman for UTAH PTA?? [Editor's note: What next?]
TBN is advertising a gift of a guardian angel clip to put on your visor in the car for a donation. They also show angels appear, in some sort of vague, hard to describe apparition, to children in commercials. Paul Crouch stated 10.20.99 that God assigns to each of us a guardian angel. [Comment:Unscriptural]
QUOTE BY JOYCE MEYER "Be more "seed" conscious then "need" conscious." (Seed represents donations to her ministry)
(The Tampa Tribune, 7.19.99) Seven Greater Ministries' officials,
a Tampa religious group - founder Gerald Payne, his wife Betty,
pastor Don Hall, Patrick Henry Talbert, James Chambers, David
Whitfield and John Krishak - face a 20-count conspiracy, mail
fraud and money laundering indictment. It is suspected Chambers
brought in $8 million alone. Investors were told of great wealth
emanating from Liberian gold and diamond veins 15 feet below ground,
ripe for the picking.
Some investors mortgaged their homes. Greater Ministries ran a
money-doubling scheme that subject to indictment. It's called
a Ponzi scheme.
(Ibid. 8.7.99) U.S. Marshals Service officers sprint across Bird
Street to secure the Greater Ministries' headquarters. Their building
was seized. The judge also prohibited Greater Ministries from
destroying or hiding documents, including any relating to its
controversial "Faith Promises" program. Friday's show
of force likely was triggered by the affiliations of some Greater
Ministries officers with tax protest and extremist political movements.
Two defendants in a pending trial of ministry officials have identified
themselves as "sovereign citizens" outside the jurisdiction
of state and federal courts. Officials said they were worried
about the possible presence of guns inside the building. No weapons
were found.
(Ibid. 9.5.99) Ministry planned arsenal. Investigators find plans
for Greater Ministries leaders to run away to an island paradise.
Solicitations from Greater Ministries International Church offered
donors a place in its ecclesiastical domain - a nation within
an existing country, akin to the Vatican's position in Italy.
The faithful would be free to run their own banking, trade and
government - with its own security force.
According to the Tampa Tribune a supply list was found, a wish
list so to speak. It lists 1,000 Claymore mines, grenade launchers,
machine guns - some equipped with silencers - shotguns, sniper
rifles, .357 Magnum handgun, 30 flak vests, two surveillance balloons
and two radar systems with a 48-mile radius. The list also calls
for 1,000 hand grenades and 5,000 to 10,000 rounds for each type
of gun, including 5,000 .50-caliber armor-piercing bullets. This
wish list was for its own tropical enclave called Greater Lands.
Payne and six federal co-defendants were arrested. Payne outlines
his plan for the group's "proposed Christian state,"
a sovereign ecclesiastical domain, to be located in the Swan Islands
in a Jan. 29 letter to Honduran President Carlos Flores. Greater
Ministries elder Jack Hudson is named vice Prime Minister, while
Embassy of Heaven leader Richard Allen Shiarla is named attorney
general. The Embassy of Heaven is a tax-protest movement created
in Oregon.
The group blames many of its troubles to the government. The financial
program collapsed last year shortly after Greater Ministries lost
about $20 million in a Colorado bank that was declared insolvent.
(Charisma Magazine 8.99) Almost anyone on London's streets has heard of the Alpha Course. Throughout England, people are returning to church because of a simple class on basic Christianity: ALPHA? It is quietly reclaiming a nation for God: These young Alpha staff members are taking the Bible study into 140 prisons in England and Wales. ALPHA IS AN UNUSUAL EVANGELISTIC BIBLE COURSE, WHICH FOCUSES ON THE WORK AND MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND SUPERNATURAL EXPERIENCES ARE OFTEN REPORTED. Nicky Gumbel, a former attorney who studied law at Cambridge University, spearheads alpha. He is now on staff at Holy Trinity Brompton Church, the London home of Alpha. "Alpha just changed the packaging," he said. Alpha presents the Gospel in digestible portions. More then 4,000 churches of all denominations joined forces to launch the $1.6 million campaign. More then 1,700 billboards, 4.5 million invitations, and thousands of church bulletin boards and regional newspaper ads encouraged the population to "explore the meaning of life" through the Alpha course. Major television and radio stations, a large number of national papers, and more than 850 local papers covered the initiative. The goal is to mobilize a million churchgoers to invite the entire population of Great Britain to attend an Alpha course. 1) It is based in a local church. 2) It puts premium on friendship. 3) It recognizes that evangelism is a process. 4) It appeals to the whole person, head and heart. 5) It involves different models of evangelism. Anyone can run it from Catholic parishes to home cell groups. [Comment: It is the perfect tool to foster ecumenism]
(Charisma Magazine 8.99) CORPORATE DELIVERANCE THROUGH PRAISE AND WORSHIP. Guess who was advertised as speaker? None but Kenneth Copeland, a guest at the Latter Rain Ministries founded by bishop W.M.James.
(New Age Adversary Bulletin & Old Time Gospel Advocate,
Summer 1999) God's promise to give the Holy Spirit to Israel.
God's prophet Joel announced God's plan to pour the Holy Spirit
on Israel and upon all flesh. This promise to give the Holy Spirit,
given in Joel 2:28, was referred to by Jesus, Luke 11:13, when
he spoke of asking the Father for blessings in prayer. The Holy
Spirit was available then to those that asked for it. Peter also
mentioned the promise of the Holy Spirit for Israel in his sermon
to the people of Jerusalem immediately after the Holy Ghost was
poured on the hundred and twenty in the upper room. At that time
any that would repent and be baptized would receive the promise
of the Holy Spirit.
The citizens of Jerusalem had heard the hundred and twenty speaking
in tongues and thought they were drunk, but Peter let them know
the utterances in tongues were of the Holy Ghost. By reading the
rest of the books of Acts we find, however, that the majority
of the Jews did not and would not believe in Jesus, repent and
get baptized either in water or by the Spirit. Therefore the prophecy
of the pouring out of the Spirit upon all flesh was not fully
completed at that time.
A simple reading of the entire book of Joel will reveal that the
promise of the Holy Spirit being poured out on all flesh has a
specific place in sequence of events that Joel prophesied. This
glorious promise will not be fulfilled until after the war of
Armageddon, Joel 2:1-10. The promise also shall not be fulfilled
until after Israel as a nation repents Joel 2:12-17. Verse 28
of Joel 2 states: "And it shall come to pass afterward, that
I shall pour out my spirit upon all flesh.. " The word afterward
refers to the events of verses 1 through 17 of chapter 2, which
include Armageddon, and the national repentance of Israel. Joel
calls the blessings that come upon Israel after Armageddon and
national repentance the latter rain. Those blessings are both
a physical restoration of the fruitfulness of the land of Israel,
Joel 2:21-27, and the pouring out of the Spirit, Joel 2:28-32.
At the beginning of the twentieth century there was a revival
of speaking in tongues among certain churches. That practice spread
among Protestants and produced several new denominations of churches
that collectively call themselves, and are called by others, Pentecostals.
When the tongues phenomena spread a little later among the Roman
Catholics they chose to call themselves Charismatics. Frequently
both Pentecostals and Charismatics claim they are experiencing
the blessings of the latter rain as prophesied by Joel.
There is no promise of a latter rain for the church. The latter
rain is promised only to the nation of Israel. The people of the
Pentecostal and Charismatic churches are deceived about the latter
rain promise. They want an inheritance before the proper time.
They are like the prodigal son, dead and lost, squandering their
substance on riotous living. You can see them now merging in the
ecumenical movement to form the end time harlot church.
Beloved reader, how many souls do you know who are presently caught
up in one or another manifestation of the Latter Rain Deception?
I know some souls who are most precious to my soul yet they are
caught up in this deception and headed for destruction unless
the Lord intervenes. Would you join me in prayer that the precious
souls will recover themselves out of the snare of he devil, who
are taken by him at his will?

(Mark Harper Ministries July/ August 1999) Leading Children in
Revival: LATTER RAIN MINISTRIES, INC. 1) How to set your child's
heart on fire for God. 2) Holy Ghost Preschool Ministry and 3)
How God is using children today. The letter of introduction on
this magazine stated: ".. sincere thanks .. in sending curriculum
sets for our Children's Ministry Libraries. They will be put in
the libraries in Israel; A.O, India, Chennai, India; Zambia; and
Kenya. On behalf of the 100's of teachers and churches and 1,000's
of children who will benefit from their materials, thank you..
".. Reach the children when they are young. Why should we
wait? Psychiatry says that 80% of a child's personality is formed
during the formable years from birth to five years.. The focus
of this issue of leading children in revival is a much-needed
area- Holy Ghost Preschool Ministry. PRESHCOOL CHILDREN ARE NOT
AS INTELLECTUALLY DEVELOPED as older children, BUT THEY ARE VERY
CAPABLE OF YIELDING TO THE HOLY GHOST, as you will see from the
testimonies. Acts 2:17 JUMP IN THE RIVER. We want children to
be passionate for God.. on fire.. A little girl two and a half
years old went home and gathered all her dolls up along the wall
.. and laid hands on and prayed for each doll. Next, Jennifer
knocked her dolls over on the floor, then she went by and put
little handkerchiefs over their dresses.. They are imitators..
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO LEAD YOUR CHILDREN INTO REVIVAL IF YOU ARE
NOT IN IT YOURSELF.
Speaking of himself Mark Harper (pastor) confessed that he was
very much involved in drugs in the 70, junior high was the worst.
I was arrested for selling drugs in 1975. Soon after I was released
and skipped classes and got drunk. My dad began to read the Bible
to him and he thought his dad had flipped his lid. Mark and his
father both believe they were born again in a revival meeting.
Preschool Revival Experiences: On one occasion, there were about
12 to 15 children who went to the prayer group with the adults.
The adults were sitting in a circle, INDIAN STYLE. As soon as
the children entered, they began to bow down and worship God the
Father. No one had told them so. The presence of the Lord filled
the room. One child was asked later: "why did you bow down?"
His response was matter of fact: "Because the Holy Spirit
told us to. Jesus was right there, Mom. He was standing right
next to you, didn't you see him?" He told his mother that
Jesus had touched each of them and followed them out of the room,
even spoke to them. Other children confirmed this. Jim Anderson
reports that God is moving the children into the front line ministry.
Brownsville, and Dwight Thompson come up in the write up. The
streams are all merging. David Walters said that he held a hand
of a 7 or 8 year old one evening where ever she pointed "like
guns" people "fell out in the anointing." (Comment:
Just think of the implications of this)
The slogan: So many times the principles of God are easier "CAUGHT
THAN TAUGHT". Children are leading worship teams.
Jay Hardy: children believe anything. We also tell our children
that "the Spirit of the Lord is upon them because he has
anointed them to preach the Gospel to the poor.." they believe
it.. When I called Rachel up and asked her what the Holy Spirit
said to her she said, "He said, I'm going to throw the Devil
in the lake of fire real soon." I was on my knees and I fell
over from the Holy Ghost "hit" I took.. One day during
the Bible story time in our class one boy jumped out of his chair
and ran a lap around the room. This was totally the Spirit and
when he sat back down he was vibrating. He had never done anything
like that before.. One such object lesson deals with why people
fall down when they get prayer. What should they do when they
fall? We encourage our children to stay and SOAK IN HIS PRESENCE
when they sense His touch on them.. We use a sponge cut into the
shape of a man and a plate of water. As the sponge "man"
stands on the edge of the plate for prayer, he "goes down
under the power, and ends up soaking in the plate full of water
until he is "full". They get full and give it out.
Jordan, an 8 year old, came forward for prayer in a Leading Children
in Revival evening meeting. He SPENT AN HOUR GENTLY WIGGLING BACK
AND FORTH FROM HEAD TO TOE. The next day when his pastor asked
Jordan what happened to him when he was on the floor, Jordan replied
that he had gone on a trip and that he would need a "Jesus
dictionary" to explain it.
(Ibid. 8.1999) God's warrior on wheels. Like many outlaw bikers,
Mefford knew his hard-core lifestyle and its succession of violence,
drugs and jail would soon be his end unless he found an exit.
The strapping 6 foot 2 inch former bike gang member, long hair
and tattoos decorating his arms, got saved. Female bikers are
some of the toughest women in the country and Diane Shreve travels
thousands of miles on her motorcycle each year to conduct her
ministry to these biker women which wasn't so easy but over time
she got better and better at it.
(Associated Press - 7.1.99) Lausanne, Switzerland. The Supreme
Court threw an appeal by the Church of Scientology upholding a
law aimed at keeping people from being "dishonestly"
accosted on the street. The law punishes anyone who recruits or
tries to recruit passersby in a public places using deception
or dishonest methods." In Germany Scientology is under nationwide
surveillance, citing its alleged anti-democratic aims and intention
to infiltrate the government.
(Fox News 10.22.99) Fox News discovered that we are targeted, that is our email - fax - cell phone calls are being monitored for incriminating keywords. They are screened for key words such as "Uni-bomber", "Ruby Ridge", "Militia", "Waco", etc. Since this is secret they have not determined all the keywords. The agency assigned to this task is in Canada and like the Federal Reserve, is not accountable to anyone. Their name is "Echelon".
(Charisma Magazine 8.99) Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan
is gravely ill with prostate cancer. Bishop Eddie Long says Louis
Farrakhan's Nation of Islam doesn't have the answers black men
need. He replaced Nation of Islam with Nation of Jesus. The black
community and black churches are expected to support movements
such as the Million Man March and organizations like the NAACP.
Bishop Long said he'd pass. "Don't tell me the solution is
Allah."
The Nation of Jesus bring speakers like Steve Forbes to teach
them principles of investments. A NATION OF JESUS INTERNATIONAL
MEN OF WAR CONFERENCE, held in Atlanta in April, served as a catalyst
for taking the Gospel beyond the church. Men took to the streets
to give hot meals and clothes to the homeless, assist with free
medical screenings, and provide job-preparation training for homeless
men and ex-drug offenders. The Nation of Jesus hopes to alter
the future of black men "building an army of Spirit-filled
men." What was not mentioned in this article in Charisma
was the fact that churches now receive federal funding if they
get involved in social problems to alleviate them. [Comment: government
funding is their carrot]

(Ecumenical News International 2.22.99)Warsaw (ENI). Pope John
Paul II is scheduled to hold his first-ever meeting with Muslim
leaders from Eastern Europe during a visit to Poland in June this
year. According to Bishop Wladyslaw Miziolek, a member of the
Catholic Church in Poland's ecumenical council, the talks are
intended to encourage Christians and Muslims to recall their "common
spiritual roots" by promoting closer inter-faith co-operation
throughout Europe.
