"That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee." Amen. (1 Timothy 6:14-21 KJV)

:: GREETINGS to all and the newcomers to this list. We'd like to introduce ourselves. George and Rita Williams, who founded this ministry, were Mormons (Temple Mormons part of the time) for 20 years. We prayed to God in 1992 to allow us to do a ministry speaking out against Scientology. Six months later God led us to the truth: out of the cult of Mormonism. We did not know at the time we were in a cult. No-one had witnessed to us in 20 years.
The Holy Spirit brought us to information about all the cults and the present development of the New World Order. We began bringing our research to you. Because all the research was already done, we decided to build a library within Cephas Ministry.
We are fundamental Bible students and have left all worldly organizations.
The focus of these newsletters is to prove why we had to leave the world system. We are called 'Watchmen on the Wall' which God always had during the Old / New Testament Times.
To understand what is happening, one has to know the Bible to compare notes.
The first section is about the church. The news about churches is unedited unless indicated by Ednotes. The church as we knew it, is undergoing disintegration. This began on a fast track in the early nineteen sixties when the Catholic Church produced liberal Vatican II to replace Vatican I.
The trend since then has been ecumenical which is truly what the word 'Catholicism' means: a universal religion all inclusive and multicultural. The Bible calls for a final church which doesn't resemble what Jesus taught. The Word of God has undergone many changes to fit the present mode. The Bible calls for a falling away from the truth before Jesus comes back for His Bride, the true believers called 'Ekklesia.' Our newsletters prove this fact and prove that the Bible is true from beginning to end.
The second section is about globalism where we bring your attention to the social, political and global trend to prove that we are moving to closure of the times of the Gentiles.
The third section compliments End Time teachings with what is happening in Israel. We describe and watch for signs of the coming Tribulation to confirm that we are moving into that space and time.
Watchmen on the wall do not solicit memberships. We have an email group that gets information when we upload new information and a newsletter whenever it is possible time wise. We love the Lord with all our hearts and minds and we love all people God has created but especially those who love our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our Statement of Faith is at http://www.cephasministry.com/statement_of_faith.html

::We believe every word in the KJV Bible and believe it is the Word of God and that Jesus is the Christ, God Himself, who spilled His blood on the cross for our sins and rose again to prepare a place for those who accept 'His' righteousness as their righteousness. They are those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, Jews first and then Gentiles. We expect to be raptured in a pretribulation Rapture to live with God the Father, God His Son Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit, who are ONE GOD in three persons, forever.
We pray the Lord will bless you with a thirst for truth and a desire to serve Him exclusively, in Christ Jesus, Nicholas A. Stivers, NicholasScrolls and Rita Williams, Cephas Ministry / Cephas Library.

FAITH UNDER FIRE
China sends Bible owners to labor camp Villagers say local police arresting Christians in crackdown.
© 2003 WorldNetDaily.com - November 26, 2003 - Owners of Bibles are the target of a crackdown on "illegal religious organizations" by police in southern China's Guangxi province. Up to 40 policemen descended on the homes of Christians in villages in Xilin county in the middle of the night, ransacking them in search of Bibles and other religious materials, according to written testimony supplied to Agence France-Presse.
The Chinese government considers all Protestant churches outside the official government-controlled Three-Self Patriotic Movement to be subversive. The official churches are restricted, to varying degrees around the country, in their doctrine and practice. The vast majority of Protestants are in "underground" churches. Catholics also are restricted to a government-controlled church, which does not recognize the authority of the pope.
Police began imposing fines on the villages in Xilin county several years ago in an attempt to wipe out "illegal religious organizations," but found it necessary to renew their efforts this year. Similar crackdowns are underway in Hebei, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, officials there told AFP, coming as China transitioned in March to new leadership led by President Hu Jintao. Authorities in Jiangsu province in east China, north of Shanghai, have shut down 125 places of worship since July, according to the Hong Kong-based Information Center for Human Rights and Democracy.
As WorldNetDaily reported, a Chinese Christian man was severely beaten after arriving at a "re-education through labor" camp, and a believing woman died after apparently being roughed up by police, according to Voice of the Martyrs, or VOM.

These lists include a biographical paragraph on each of 223 elites from the Right who participated in two conferences.

Years ago the John Birch Society developed the view that the Council on Foreign Relations, dominated by Rockefeller's money and Kissinger's politics, was too soft on the cold war. Today many conservatives, from Birchers to Lyndon LaRouche, still see CFR as more or less part of the Soviet conspiracy. The Left, on the other hand, has always felt that CFR is an example of imperialism in the service of ruling class interests.

In 1981 the Hunt brothers and T.Cullen Davis founded the Council for National Policy as a counterweight to CFR. This was not a collection of right-wing nuts, but rather the cream of the wealthy activist Right in America. Forget about trying to join either one -- both CNP and CFR are for elites only. It is unclear whether CNP is still active. The last time they were in the news was when Oliver North, first named by the media in 1985, was found on CNP's 1984 confidential mailing list. RELIGION MAJORS
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., New York Times - Aug. 5, 2003-- Teresa Becker made a costly decision when she chose after her sophomore year to major in theology.
She had received $1,200 in state scholarship money for her freshman year at Ave Maria College in Ypsilanti, Mich., in 2000. The next year she received $2,750 in state aid. Last June, she was promised that amount for her junior year, too. A month later, when word of her choice of a major reached state officials, they wrote her a new letter.
''Students enrolled in a course of study leading to a degree in theology, divinity or religious education are not eligible to receive an award,'' it said, paraphrasing a state law. ''Your award has changed from $2,750.00 to $0.00.''
Eleven states prohibit aid for the study of theology. In addition to Michigan and Washington, they are New York, New Jersey, Alabama, Louisiana, Missouri, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota and Wisconsin, according to a supporting brief filed in the Supreme Court by five state attorneys general.

RICK WARREN ENTERS BULLRING
Rick Warren Enters Bullring-The sky is the limit when it comes to promotions of mega-church building. Or is it "the pit is the limit?" "An indoor bullring in Mexico City will be the site of a Rick Warren-led `Purpose Driven Life and Church' conference in late June." (BP, 2/24/03) It is being dubbed as "the event of the year for evangelicals in Mexico." Warren is the author of two best seller books among many church goers. The meeting is called the Purpose Driven Life & Church Conference. It is ecumenical to the core. The organizing committee includes the leadership of Campus Crusade. Supporters are the Mexican Evangelical Fraternity, the Faith Hope and Love Centers, Campus Crusade, the National Baptist Convention, the Assemblies of God, the Methodist Church, the Full Gospel Church of God of Mexico, Presbyterian Reformed, many Pentecostal churches and several pastoral alliances that number into the thousands of churches. And the number is still growing. Warren is praised by many who call themselves Baptist. Yet he is surrounded by charismatics, liberals, and false religion. Korah had a great following, but they all entered into the pit with him. (Num. 16) They may have to rent a larger bullring.-WWM

LETTER TO RELIGIOUS REPORTER AT THE TAMPA TRIBUNE WAS FEATURED
I am all for “Keeping the Faith in Christ.” But honestly, what did yesterday’s article on the “Purpose Driven Church” have to do with promoting faith in the Biblical Jesus? I found your article to be very seductive, somewhat subtle and wildly manipulative.
Well, it looks like the “Me” generation has finally done it. They have created for themselves another idol. This is an idol that comforts them and promises them wealth and prosperity, an idol that tickles their ears and gives them permission to do what ever they want, whenever they want. That’s how some people describe success. The idol they have fashioned for themselves drives home the message that every person has a given purpose in life. Of course, this may well be true but what purpose is mainstream Christianity driving for?
Is man not seeking glory for himself rather than God? Is man not making promises in God’s name without God’s permission? Does it not seem that our ever changing desires and lusts lead us to reinterpreting the unchangeable Word of God thus facilitating moral decadence? Is man not elevating himself once again to “God hood?” Oh my, are we looking at a society that has fallen from grace or a society that has always rejected the grace Christ afforded us? Can you fall away from a place or loose your direction when you never arrived let alone, follow the road signs? How can one depart from a place if he never had arrived in the first place? Many Christians today would call this backsliding but Scripture calls it Apostasy; they never arrived at, they repelled from grace rejecting the Gospel of Christ crucified.
The preachers of this new form of ecumenicalism are promising abundance of worldly wealth and riches and to support their claims to this being the will of God; they dress themselves in finely tailored suits and often times brag about their new car or motorcycle. I have nothing against what a man wears or what he drives but when you dress for success and parade about in expensive automobiles in today’s world; you flaunt the image of success which is nothing less than vanity and idolatry. When you trade in your perfectly good Ford or Chevy for a BMW or Mercedes then you are saying in essence, “Look what God has blessed me with.” In Christian circles, this means to give the praise, glory and honor to God while the impoverished of society are made to feel like they are the weak or incompetent and it should not be this way. The Christians that do this are saying that God is partial and that He favors or respects one person over another. Christians who do this are saying, “God loves me more than he loves the poor man who has nothing.” This new “Purpose Driven” wave that is sweeping America comes in on the coat tails of secular preferences disguised with a cloak of religion and is sweeping the globe in all directions. A NEW SONG MORE ON THE DANGERS OF THE PURPOSE DRIVEN CHURCH
“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” - Titus 2:13-14
What is worship? As I understand it, worship is coming before the Lord as a holy and “peculiar people”, in obedience, humility, reverence, repentance and faith with an attitude of gratitude, to sing His praises, hear His Word, glorify His name and honor Him with all of our being for Who He is and what He has done.
Contrary to popular trends, worship is NOT getting together with anybody and everybody to party in Jesus' name and feel good about ourselves with intoxicating music and psychotherapy.
Clearly, the Lord does not want His own to look, act and sound like every other sinner in the street. He wants us to be different, distinctive, sanctified and holy so that everyone will know that we belong to Him and not the world. But, if we are indistinguishable from the world, we are worse than useless; we are an insult and an embarrassment and demonstrate that we are not His at all.
Why then, under the pretext of pragmatism, have we dedicated ourselves to making the church look, act and sound exactly like the unchanged, unrepentant and unregenerate world around us – essentially filling our fortresses with the enemy to make them FEEL like allies? How does that glorify God and forward the gospel of repentance and faith In Christ? Isn’t proclaiming our transformation and redemption from a lost and dying state into a “new creature” (2 Corinthians 5:17) what the psalmist meant by “Sing unto Him a new song…“ – to show the world that we are now a “peculiar people”, set apart for Him and Him only?
So, who’s learning whose song here? Who's proselytizing whom? For the whole article, go to:

Apostasy Revealed by Nicholas A. Stivers
A non-fiction, highly spiritual work
$11.95 Trade paperback plus postage
Jesus' disciples were of common Hebrew stock. They became Apostles through their tenacity and were firm in their commitment. They developed groups of believers called churches (gatherings). They were a minority then as God's appointed ones are today, not following mainstream ideals, but clinging steadfastly to Christ's teachings and enduring persecution for their unwavering faith. The rest of the world at that time was as deceived and enslaved as the world is today. Their world suffered under siege by secular powers, just as our world today is at the mercy of the same models of Government.
Sadly, the many-divided houses of God promote their own brand of elitism and partiality. Many Christian authorities are largely tolerant of sensual deviance and abhorrent authority. Religion has (in part) lost its zeal because the message has been so watered down that it fails to keep the believers faithful. Today, hypocrisy is an epidemic. So many are backsliding and falling into pits. The message herein brings you back to the fundamental "Gospel of Christ crucified" in a contemporary context. This book is for those who have been thirsting and hungering for the righteousness of God. What many people need is encouragement to follow Jesus' example.Take courage now and share the experience of salvation and fresh revelation with a brother in Christ. Highly recommended by Cephas Ministry

ARNOLD: THE ROTHCHILDS' MAN IN CALIFORNIA
By Uri Dowbenko - The Bush Cabal has lusted after California for a long time. And now with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Governor, they have finally realized their goal: to capture California, the world's 10th largest economy. Even "presidential advisor" Karl Rove signed off on it.

(Photo shows Arnold Schwarzenegger flanked by Warren Buffett and Jacob Rothschild)

Most importantly, Arnold has been sanctioned by the Olympians. The European Families have authorized the deal and their American cousins at the Bohemian Grove seconded the motion to install Arnold as Governor. On Sept. 24, 2002, Reuters published a story called 'Buffett's Back, with the Terminator' about Arnold and billionaire Warren Buffett visiting the ancestral home of the Rothschilds in England, where they "stepped onto Waddesdon's freshly cut lawn to be greeted by Lord Jacob Rothschild... Among those invited to Waddesdon Manor were the likes of James Wolfensohn, president of the World Bank, Jorma Ollila, chief executive of Nokia and De Beers chairman Nicky Oppenheimer. http://www.itar-tass.ru/english/allnews/489802.html

MORE OF IRAQ - BEHIND THE DECEPTION
November 17, 2003 - by William F. Jasper - President Bush’s reversal from unilateralism to multilateralism was entirely predictable. He is merely following the internationalist principles that guide his administration.
‘‘Unilateralism!" "Cowboy diplomacy!" Clintonites and other denizens of the one-world Left had been using such expressions to vent their outrage over President George W. Bush’s foreign policy long before he launched Operation Iraqi Freedom. But the March 19 invasion of Iraq started a new round of hyperventilating by the fervid internationalist choir. The president was undoing the multilateralist world order set up after World War II, they wailed. He was scorning and undermining the United Nations, they declaimed.

Many American patriots, on the other hand, were elated. Finally an American president was standing up to the UN and putting America’s security and well-being first. Shame on the UN! Shame on the Frenchies, Germans, Russians and other fair-weather friends who opposed our retribution on Saddam for the 9-11 terror atrocities! The radio waves crackled with jubilant hurrahs from the Rush Limbaugh-Sean Hannity-Ollie North end of the broadcast dial. Rush-bots and Bush-bots exulted: Hurray for President Bush and America First, go-it-alone unilateralism!

CONSERVATIVE CONTROVERSY
On March 7, just a couple weeks before our troops entered Iraq, I received a telephone call from one of these newly elated patriots. An old friend and a longtime subscriber to THE NEW AMERICAN, "Joe" was calling to see if I was aware of the good news. "Did you hear Bush last night?" he asked excitedly, referring to the president’s March 6 press conference. "Boy, wasn’t that fantastic?" Joe continued along these lines. (I’m recounting this conversation from notes, not precise quotes from tapes.) "He really blasted the UN, didn’t he?" enthused Joe. "Did you hear the thunderous applause he got from that? Now, is THE NEW AMERICAN going to be willing to admit it was wrong about Bush being a pro-UN internationalist?"

I assured Joe that we would be supremely delighted to find ourselves wrong in this case. Unfortunately, the president’s rhetoric notwithstanding, we had found no reason to issue mea culpas yet. Joe was dumbstruck. "What? You can’t be serious!" he exclaimed. According to Joe, George Bush had just dealt the UN its death blow. Bush had completely exposed and discredited the world body. This is the first time, said Joe, that he could recall hearing people on the street, in the office, and on talk radio all saying we ought to get out of the UN. "That’s what you guys have been calling for for years," Joe exclaimed. "I’d think you’d be ecstatic."

There will be ecstasy aplenty, I explained, once President Bush signs legislation ending our participation in, and cutting off funding for, the UN and all of its subversive agencies and activities. But I cautioned him not to hold his breath while waiting for that glorious day to come. Far from leading a U.S. withdrawal from the UN, Bush has repeatedly praised the UN and restated his support for it.

"Of course! He has to say things like that to show he is for the things the UN claims to be for — like peace," Joe, the elated patriot, explained. "But he has made it clear to the UN and the ‘international community’ that we don’t need their permission to defend ourselves."

The president had indeed sounded a welcome note of sovereign defiance. His biggest applause line on March 6 was his declaration that "when it comes to our security, if we need to act, we will act. And we really don’t need United Nations approval to do so." Bravo! Well said! This was followed a few seconds later with a bold reiteration proclaiming that "when it comes to our security, we really don’t need anybody’s permission." More rapturous applause.

"You should be rejoicing," my friend continued. As he saw it, it was goodbye Clinton UN multilateralism and hello Bush America-First unilateralism.

"I think you are going to be very disappointed," I told Joe. Despite President Bush’s go-it-alone bluster, I explained, the president had shown repeatedly, by deed as well as word, that he is a solid UN multilateralist, an inveterate internationalist. That he is actually leading the effort to strengthen the UN.

I pointed out that sandwiched in between the president’s March 6 remarks about not needing UN approval or permission was this statement by Bush: "I want the United Nations to be effective. It’s important for it to be a robust, capable body." This was a repeat of similar statements he’d made dozens of times in various speeches, such as:

• "The conduct of the Iraqi regime is a threat to the authority of the United Nations...."

• "Are Security Council resolutions to be honored and enforced, or cast aside without consequence?"

• "We want the resolutions of the world’s most important multilateral body to be enforced."

• "I want the United Nations to be effective.... It makes sense for there to be an international body that has got the backbone and the capacity to help keep the peace."

• "The message to the world is that we want the U.N. to succeed."

• "America will be making only one determination: is Iraq meeting the terms of the Security Council resolution or not?... If Iraq fails to fully comply, the United States and other nations will disarm Saddam Hussein."

• "Will the United Nations serve the purpose of its founding, or will it be irrelevant?"

President Bush wants the UN to be relevant! Over and over again, he has called for the UN to exercise authority that conservatives in the past always have argued the UN should never have. He has taken a very revolutionary stand that argues for vastly empowering the UN Security Council. He has time after time criticized the UN for being too weak and has called — implicitly and explicitly — for making it stronger. But by making it appear that this is serving America’s national interest, he has disarmed those who normally would oppose such a radical shift in U.S. policy.

An indication of how radical the Bush position on the UN is can be seen from the alarming compliments the president has gotten from the likes of Robert Wright. Professor Wright, an avowed advocate of world government, notes that Bush has given the UN "a prominence it has rarely enjoyed in its 57-year history." "In fact," said Wright in a New York Times piece earlier this year, "there remains a slim chance that the president could, however paradoxically, emerge as a historic figure in the United Nations’ own evolution toward enduring significance." Wright noted that "if Nixon could go to China, President Bush can go through New York." The Bush administration’s pressure on the UN to enforce its resolutions is making it easier for the UN to claim the authority to do so, and to call on the U.S. to provide it with the military muscle to do just that. By leading the charge on this issue, Bush is making it more difficult for fellow Republicans to oppose UN empowerment — just as, decades earlier, Nixon’s trip to Beijing made it more difficult for fellow Republicans to oppose opening U.S. relations with Communist China.

George W. Bush has implemented many other concrete steps to expand the UN’s power and influence. In launching Operation Iraqi Freedom he did not seek a congressional declaration of war, as the Constitution requires; like his father in Desert Storm, he has cited UN resolutions for his authority. It is George W. Bush — not Clinton — who has pressured Congress into paying the UN back dues. It is Mr. Bush who has gotten Congress to pony up billions of dollars more for the UN’s AIDS program and other UN programs like the UN Millennium Challenge Account, the World Bank, etc. It is President Bush who has taken us back into UNESCO, one of the worst UN agencies, after we’d been out of it for 20 years and three administrations.

"Mark my words," I told Joe, "you will witness a great reversal in Iraq." I predicted that after "unilateralist" President Bush had sent several hundred thousand U.S. troops into Iraq in another undeclared war, and after the cost of occupation began to mount — in lives and tens of billions of dollars — we would then see "multilateralist" Bush going hat in hand to seek help from the UN and all its anti-American critics. The Iraq venture would end up humiliating the United States, elevating the UN and convincing millions more Americans that independence in security and foreign policy is no longer tenable. It would mark a great advance for "collective security" under the UN.

"Not possible," said Joe, still emotionally high from the effects of the president’s speech. Bush, he insisted, had caused too great a rupture in UN-U.S. relations, and in our relations with France, Germany and other false allies. "The problem with you," my friend declared, "is that you’ve been against everything for so long you can’t believe it when things start going right. Mark my words, the UN is toast!"

REALITY CHECK
Not long ago a decidedly unelated Joe called to unbosom himself of a growing unease over President Bush’s new multilateralism. He had read the transcript of President Bush’s September 23 address to the UN General Assembly. Particularly galling was the president’s statement that "America is working with friends and allies on a new Security Council resolution, which will expand the U.N.’s role in Iraq." The UN, said Bush, "should assist in developing a constitution, in training civil servants, and conducting free and fair elections."

Could the president really be serious, Joe wondered? "Where has the UN ever conducted free and fair elections or developed a constitution worth a d***?" he asked. Unfortunately, the president is serious indeed. And if more Americans do not prevail on their congressmen to halt his reborn multilateralism, we will be skidding downhill fast.

Paul Robinson, assistant director for the Centre for Security Studies at the University of Hull in England, offered a very sobering analysis of the Bush-Iraq venture in the October 18 issue of the London Spectator. "[T]he United Nations, far from being humiliated by recent events, could well emerge invigorated," wrote Robinson shortly after the Bush administration appealed to the Security Council for material and military aid in Iraq. "The more America has to backtrack and summon help from the UN, the more it will be the latter which will be seen as the winner in the power struggle between the two.... The Americans have had to go back to the UN this week to get a resolution to bail them out in Iraq. Having declared the UN ‘irrelevant,’ they have now discovered that they cannot manage without it."

ROBINSON CONCLUDES
In sum, the results of the war in Iraq will probably be the very opposite of those for which it was launched. The fires of terrorism will be fueled, not quenched; Iraq will not be a beacon of Western liberalism transforming the Middle East but a bankrupt maelstrom of discontent; efforts to create a new power bloc to counter America will not fade away but redouble; the legitimacy of the United Nations will not be weakened but strengthened; and the constraints on American power will be tightened, not removed.

Robinson’s analysis is fairly accurate, except for his assumption that the negative results are the opposite of those intended by the Bush administration’s internationalists. My colleague, William Norman Grigg, writing months before Robinson, called it more accurately, I believe. In "Same Ends, Different Means" (published in the March 24 issue of this magazine shortly before the beginning of the most recent war with Iraq), Grigg observed: "The president and his subordinates have made their intent transparently clear: The impending war on, or occupation of, Iraq is intended to carry out the UN Security Council’s mandates, not to protect our nation or to punish those responsible for the September 11th attack. The war would uphold the UN’s supposed authority and vindicate its role as a de facto world government."

In a subsequent article ("Baghdad Bait-and-Switch," June 30), Grigg warned that the protracted occupation of Iraq would result in "a steady and worsening hemorrhage of national power, wealth, and prestige," leading to a situation in which "American servicemen and their families, weary of the burden of empire, would eagerly embrace transferring that burden to the UN" — a radically empowered UN boasting its own standing military.

In pursuing this course, George W. Bush is following the internationalist inclinations that guide him and his coterie of advisers and handlers. As the presidential election of 2000 was entering its climactic weeks, the September/October 2000 issue of Foreign Affairs clued in its multilateralist reading audience not to take George Bush’s unilateralist utterances too seriously. James M. Lindsay of the left-wing, one-world Brookings Institution noted in that issue that "both Al Gore and George W. Bush are internationalists by inclination...." Foreign Affairs is the weighty journal of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the group that has been in the forefront of promoting UN one-worldism and world government for the past 80-plus years.

Lindsay and the crew at Foreign Affairs were not merely guessing at George W.’s inclinations. They knew that his father is a devoted internationalist and a former top CFR member. Just as important, they knew that candidate Bush had surrounded himself with advisers who were (and are) CFR stalwarts, many of whom had served in the first Bush administration: Condoleezza Rice, Richard Cheney, Stephen Hadley, Richard Perle, George Shultz, Paul Wolfowitz, Dov Zakheim, Robert Zoellick, Elliott Abrams, Colin Powell, Henry Kissinger, Brent Scowcroft, et al.

They knew for certain that the new Bush administration would end up taking a pro-UN, multilateralist course — even if it had to march under a false America First, unilateralist banner, in order to get patriots like Joe onto the one-world bandwagon. Unfortunately, too many Joes still don’t realize they’re being taken for a ride http://www.thenewamerican.com/tna/2003/11-17-2003/deception.htm

POLSTERS SAY PUBLIC OPINION IN FREE FALL ON GAY MARRIAGES
New York Times, National, July 30, 2003 - "I am mindful that we're all sinners," the president said, and borrowing from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, added:
"And I caution those who may try to take the speck out of their neighbor's eye when they got a log in their own. I think it's very important for our society to respect each individual, to welcome those with good hearts, to be a welcoming country."
His remarks also come as many social conservatives, an important element of his political base, are seething over a 6-to-3 ruling in June by the Supreme Court in which the court offered a sweeping definition of personal liberty to strike down a Texas law outlawing private gay activity. Some Senate Republicans, like Senator Bill Frist of Tennessee, the majority leader, have said there might be a need for a constitutional amendment to prohibit same-sex marriages, if more states sanctioned them and the courts required other states to recognize them.
Pollsters say that public opinion has been gradually shifting, albeit slowly, toward a more tolerant view of homosexuality. A Gallup Poll in May, asking whether gay couples should be able to "legally form civil unions, giving them some of the legal rights of married couples," found the public evenly split, with 49 percent in favor and 49 percent opposed. In February 2002, the equivalent figures were 53 percent against to 41 percent in favor.

DOMESTIC SECURITY - BUSH SEEKS TO EXPAND ACCESS TO PRIVATE DATA
New York Times - Washington, Sept. 13, 2003 — By Eric Lichtblau.. In a plan announced this week to expand counterterrorism powers, President Bush adopted a very different tack. In a three-point presidential plan that critics are already dubbing Patriot Act II, Mr. Bush is seeking broad new authority to allow federal agents — without the approval of a judge or even a federal prosecutor — to demand private records and compel testimony.
Mr. Bush also wants to expand the use of the death penalty in crimes like terrorist financing, and he wants to make it tougher for defendants in such cases to be freed on bail before trial. These proposals are also sure to prompt sharp debate, even among Republicans.
Opponents say that the proposal to allow federal agents to issue subpoenas without the approval of a judge or grand jury will significantly expand the law enforcement powers granted by Congress after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. And they say it will also allow the Justice Department — after months of growing friction with some judges — to limit the role of the judiciary still further in terrorism cases.

CLOTHING DESIGNERS PLAN TO WEAVE ID CHIPS INTO GARMENTS FOR TRACKING PURPOSES
Wired News 3-12-2003 - In a move wireless industry analysts say will infringe on customers' privacy, clothing designer Benetton plans to weave radio frequency ID chips into its garments to track its clothes worldwide. Analysts warn that the RFID chips could pose significant risks to customers' privacy because they would allow anyone with an RFID receiver to locate customers wearing Benetton clothes, including companies that want to sell them their products.
Among other businesses, luxury clothing retailer Prada already embeds RFID inventory tags into its clothing. Procter & Gamble, Wal-Mart and British retailer Tesco are other companies mulling over using smart tags for restocking, anti-theft and anti-counterfeit purposes. Royal Philips Electronics is shipping 15 million RFID chips, which are the size of a grain of sand, to Benetton this year. Phillips claims the effort is "the world's largest and most comprehensive item-level tagging implementation of RFID technology in the fashion industry to date."

UNIVERSITIES IN DECLINE
The New York Times - August 26, 2003 - Public colleges and universities, which grant more than three-quarters of this country's degrees, have been steadily undermined by state budget cuts and a mood of legislative indifference. They have responded by raising tuition beyond the reach of many poor and working-class families. Now, faced with less and less state support, some universities have begun to cannibalize themselves by increasing class size and cutting course offerings, making it difficult for students to find the courses they need to graduate.
An education reporter at The Times, Greg Winter, recently described an alarming trend in which some of the country's best public universities are actually unable to provide students with the required courses they need to finish their degrees. The institutions that have cut back on research assistants and other basic support services have grown fearful of losing high-profile professors, along with the hundreds of millions of dollars the professors bring in with their research grants. Such an exodus would actually leave some schools or departments insolvent.
This downward spiral began in the 1980's, when many state legislatures began to back away from their commitments to public higher education, leading to higher tuition rates. Federal and state financial aid to those who cannot pay has failed to keep pace. This has increasingly discouraged the neediest students from applying to colleges at all.
The poor, however, have turned out to be the canary in the coal mine. The disappearing courses and the threatened exodus of money-raising researchers are clear signs that some of the country's most important public universities are in crisis. Unless the country renews its commitment to public higher education, the universities will find their faculties decimated and their degrees devalued — and the students who can afford to pay looking elsewhere for college degrees. The states will then learn that important institutions are easy to destroy and devilishly difficult to rebuild.

But, once you understand the full implications of this report, you will praise God to the highest, for events as they occurred prove beyond doubt that God's prophecies are controlling world events. ASHCROFT LEAVES OPEN POSSIBILITY OF SAME-SEX UNIONS IN US
Ashcroft leaves open possibility of same-sex civil unions in US. How can this be, for Attorney General Ashcroft is supposed to be a Born Again Christian who holds daily prayer and Bible studies in his Justice Department! Sadly, we see yet another instance of bad, bitter spiritual fruit emanating from the Bush Administration. "WASHINGTON (AFP) - Attorney General John Ashcroft (news - web sites) Sunday left open the possibility of allowing a system of civil unions for same-sex couples, amid a raging debate over gay marriage in the United States ... he declined to comment on the Bush administration's stance on civil unions, which would grant same-sex couples many of the same rights enjoyed by married couples. 'That's a very complex question that I'm not going to make a recommendation on. We're doing research on that now,' Ashcroft told the "Fox News Sunday" television program." A CONSTITUTION TO PONDER, EUROPEANS GATHER IN GREECE
ORTO CARRAS, Greece, June 19 2003 — The leaders of the 15 nations in the European Union arrived here late today to tackle all the usual dilemmas, debates and decisions of their frenetic summit meetings, compressed into a few days about every four months...
But Mr. Solana's document, written with a general consensus among members of the union, also reflects European leaders' desire to find and underscore areas of agreement with the United States.
For example, it clearly and deliberately concurs with the American assessment that the potential spread of weapons of mass destruction, especially into the hands of terrorists, represents the most dire threat to global security.
It additionally asserts that countries that "persistently violate international norms" must realize "that there is a price to be paid, including in their relationship with the European Union."..
The mood here tonight was one of determination that European countries would claim a place in the world in keeping with the union's growth in wealth and population.
If the union's enlargement proceeds as planned in May of 2004, it will have a population of about 450 million with a combined wealth close to that of the United States.
The summit meeting was initially supposed to be held in the northern Greek city of Salonika, 70 miles away, but was moved to this remote location to help ensure its security and lessen the proximity and size of protests. Although thousands of protesters took to the streets of Salonika tonight, there were no visible demonstrations here. http://www.nytimes.com/ads/41003_amexpopunder.html

U.N. REPORT FIGHT Vs REPORT FIGHT VS. AL-QUAIDA FAILING
AP November 14, 2003 by Edith M. Lederer - The al-Qaida terror network has decided to use chemical or biological weapons in future attacks, and international efforts to halt the group are failing, a confidential report by a U.N. panel of experts has found. The report, obtained Friday by The Associated Press, said the only thing holding al-Qaida back from using chemical and biological weapons is its lack technical know-how. "They have already taken the decision to use chemical and bio-weapons in their forthcoming attacks," the report said. "The only restraint they are facing is the technical complexity to operate them properly and effectively." The lack of technical ability is the reason the panel of experts believes that al-Qaida is focused on trying to develop new conventional explosive devices such as bombs that can evade scanners...
The experts participated in a serious of international and European discussions on efforts to curb trafficking in weapons of mass destruction. They didn't cite any specific new evidence, noting only the recent discovery of several canisters of unidentified chemicals and possible residues of a "tetanus virus-carrying chemical" and a bio-terror manual in a police raid on a Jemaah Islamiyah hideout in the southern Philippines.

COMPANY SELLS IMPLANTABLE MICROCHIPS FOR PEOPLE
MEXICO CITY (AP) - Carlos Altamirano's arm is scanned to show the 16 digit code of his recently implanted microchip on Thursday, July 17, 2003, in Mexico City. Borrowing from an idea that allows pet owners to track their dogs and cats, a U.S. company launched Thursday in Mexico the sale of microchips that can be implanted under a person's skin and used to confirm everything from health history to identity.
The microchips, which went on sale last year in the United States, could tap into a growing industry surrounding Mexico's crime concerns. Kidnappings, robberies and fraud are common here, and Mexicans are constantly looking for ways to stay ahead of criminals.
The microchip, the size of a grain of rice, is implanted in the arm or hip and can contain information on everything from a person's blood type to their name. Hospital officials and security guards can use a scanning device to read the chip's information...
In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration has said it would not regulate the implant as long as it contains no medical data.
One chip costs $150 and has a $50 annual fee. The scanning device and related software is $1200. Users can update and manage their chips' information by calling a 24-hour customer service line.
