WHAT IS ISLAM DOING?

 MUSLIM IMMIGRATION

 Recent reports show that Middle Easterners are one of the fastest-growing immigrant groups coming to America. The Center for Immigration Studies indicated that while overall legal and illegal immigration has tripled since 1970, immigration from the Middle East has grown sevenfold.

All this means political empowerment. Recently the Arab American community in Dearborn, Michigan held its 7th Annual Dearborn Arab Internationa Festival. Arab-Americans were quick to note who attended. The editor of an Arab-American publication ecstatically noted: "Politicians showed up to curry favor with the community, the Federal Bureau of Investigation was welcomed by festival organizers, and a large corporate presence was evident. In short, what was clear was that any of the goals the national [Arab-American] community is trying to achieve have, to some degree or another, been realized in the Detroit-Dearborn area. Political empowerment, which for so long has been a cherished goal on the national level, is a reality in Michigan."

Here it is openly admitted that "political empowerment" is the "cherished goal." Will there be religious liberty and freedom for all if a practicing Muslim becomes president? Cal Thomas, writing for the Tribune Media Services (November 2001) answers this with a question: "Is there a country controlled by Islamic militants that guarantees equal rights for all?"

 WAR BY IMMIGRATION

Almost all of us are immigrants - with the exception of some people like Bob who has some Cherokee blood coursing through his veins. We love our immigrants and have nothing against legal immigration. America has been richly blessed culturally, scientifically, and in every other way by immigrants who have come to our shores to seek a better life and who have come here to be a part of American society. We have major objections, however, to immigrants who come to our shores to change America. This is exactly the intention of large numbers of immigrants from Muslim lands.

Particularly offensive is the tactic of exploiting American freedoms to establish an Islamic society in which there is no freedom. Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum, and Khalid Duran state: "Islamists arrive in the United States despising the country and all it represents, intending to make converts, exploit the freedoms and rights granted them, and build a movement that will effect basic changes in the country's way of life and its government... Islamists do not accept the United States as it is but want to change it into a majority Muslim country were the Quran replaces the Constitution." They also crticize organizations that claim to represent Muslim political interests, such as the American Council, the Muslim Public Affairs Committee, and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). "It is striking to note," they write, "that all three organizations are Islamist, and so seek to forward goals deeply at variance with mainstream American principles, as well as the aspirations and concerns of a majority in Muslim community."

 THE GOAL: AN ISLAMIC TAKEOVER

The London-based Arabic newspaper, Al-Hayat, published a series of articles about Muslim communities in Great Britain. One of the individuals interviewed was Sheikh Abu Hamza. Originally from Egypt, Abu Hamza is currently the imam of the Finsbury Park Mosque. Another individual who supplied his insights on the subject was Sheikh Omar Bakri of Syria, currently, the founder and head of the Islamic religious court in London. Together they had one message: Christian Europe had better learn to adapt to Islam.

To the question, "Do you identify yourself as British?" Abu Hamza stated: "I see myself as British in the sense that I use my British documents in order to travel. If you mean do I feel British or agree with British politics, then of course, the answer is no. I live here and have a passport. It is a superficial identity. The true identity lies in the heart and spirit.. This identity is Islam."

Al-Hayat also asked: "And where does this life, lived in exile as far as Islam is concerned, lead?" Bakri answered:

"Life for Moslems in exile will bring change in the countries where we live, just as Moslems changed the situation in Abyssinia and Indonesia. With the help of Allah, we will make the West into Dar al-Islam [a region under Islamic rule]. If it is not accomplished from outside, through invasion of the West by an Islamic state, we will be its army and soldiers from the inside. We will wage an ideological attack without war and killing. Either we will preach to them and they will accept Islam as a spiritual solution for their problems, or we will live among them and they will be influenced by our lifestyle and finally accept Islam."

 

Well, Sheikh, God's Word has a word for arrogant boasters: "Why do the heathen rage?.. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: The Lord shall have them in derision.. (Psalm 2:1,4). There shall be no hiding place, nor fortification, that will frustrate Divine judgment. "The pride of this heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock. whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground? Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the Lord" (Obad. 3-4)

 TIME FOR RESPONSIBLE LOVE

 While the outcome of this controversy is clear, this does not absolve individuals and nations from taking the appropriate steps. Ignoring this is a deadly gamble. The recent carnage on the island of Bali is proof. Though the Indonesian government had been repeatedly warned by American intelligence that a terrorist attack was imminent, their response was: "We don't have a problem." Prophecy is not given to motivate us to inaction, but rather to right action. We recommend the follwoing steps to deal with terrorism.

1. While our leaders have continually affirmed that America is not at war with Islam, they need to realize that Islam is at war with America. The world will never rise above the horrors of historic Islam until this becomes a reality. There can be no peaceful co-existence with any group that wants world domination.

2. Muslim immigrants, students, and American citizens who identify themselves as Muslims must be required to sign a statement that they will not seek to establish an Islamic state in America, and that they will support the United States of America in a war against an Islamic nation. They must be told that a violation of this will lead to immediate deportation or incarceration.

3. Our leaders need to realize that religious libery and freedom of speech was never intended to allow one religion to become dominant, nor was it intended to allow the establishment of a state religion - which is exactly what historical Islam was wanted for more than 1300 years.

4. Our national leaders need to serve notice to Islamic countries, such as Saudi Arabia, that we will not tolerate continuing anti-Israel, anti-American rhetoric from its mosques and so-called intellectual communities. The Middle East Media Research Institute (www.memri.org) gives a weekly listing of sermons and their contents that are preached in Saudi Arabian mosques. The language is the most vicious and barbaric that can be imagined. Immigration and the influx of students from these countires be immediately terminated until this hate-filled rhetoric ceases.

5. Our naitonal leaders need to serve notice to all countries that their citizens will not enjoy religious liberty in America until American citizens enjoy religious liberty in their countries. Citizens of Islamic countries that will not agree to this should not be allowed to openly carry symbols of their religion. A good example is the Saudi law that forbids even an American soldier there for the protection of that nation to openly carry a Bible, or for U.S. chaplains to have a chaplain's cross on their collar.

6. American leaders must prohibit Islamic instruction in public facilities. Various Islamic groups are going to schools, public libraries, and civic faciltities in America to allegedly foster a better understanding of Islam. They claim that Islam is misunderstood. Christian, Buddhists and followers of other religions can claim the same thing. Besides, there is more than ample proof that the design of such instruction is to win converts to Islam.   THE CRESCENT MOON RISES OVER EUROPE

 Charisma, by Thomas Dixon, February 2003 - While Muslim immigrants pour into England and France, most churces there are unaware or unconcerned about the threat - and the opportunies they ahve to reach Islamic nations. ".. Close to 20 million immigrants from the Muslim countries in North Africa, the Middle East and Asia live in Western Europe today. Etching their own impressions into a newfound culture, they are changing the face of old Europe. Many of these socially and culturally uprooted new Europeans, especially the young, are deeply frustrated with life and are seeking ansers. The Muslims world has not been late in responding to them.

Never lacking funds, new Muslim religious and social institutions are mushrooming all across Europe. Some are "progressive," endorsing a "European Islam" but still advocating an Islamization of the once Christian continent. Some are aggressively fundamenlist, unabashedly using the freedom of the West to decry its license. The latter, especially, boast about recruiting young and jobless men for the wars against "infidels" (non-Muslims) in such places as Bosnia, Chechnya and Afghanistan.

The Christian church in Europe, on the other hand, pays little attention to demographic revolution that has deposited million of people from distant, unreached nations onto its very doorstep.

One group that is - one of the largest Christian mission organizations in the world, based in London - has so far been unable to raise support for its first center for reaching Muslims... [They are being restricted and churches do not want Arabs to come to their churches]

Meanwhile, God is showing His deep interest in the Muslim multitudes by revealing Himself supernaturally in dreams and visions to many of them across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. In a number of cases documented by Charisma these encounters with Christ were preceded by very little or even no contact with Christians...

:It happend in 1989," Arhab told Charisma. "I was laying on my bed in Algeria, completely fed up with life, when all of a sudden somebody materialized in front of me! He was shining, and I just knew it was Jesus. Maybe He was there physically, I cannot tell. But I was not asleep, nor were my eyes closed." "The first thing Jesus said, 'Today you are going to die!" Then He walked me thorugh my whole life for two hours, and there was nothing I could do but cry and say, 'Please forgive me!".. [Another] put the Bible and the Quran on a table and prayed, "God, if it matters to You, let the false book burn!" At 3 a.m. both books were still unharmed, and Yahia thought he might as well go to bed. But in that very instant two fireballs entered the room and moved toward him. "I immediately knew the one ball was God, and the other Jesus," Yahia recounts. "Right in front of me the two balls converged and became one. That is how I learned that Jesus is not just a prophet the way Islam teaches, but God."

Yahia's copy of the Quran was not consumed by God's fire, but his heart was. He immediately started [witnessing to others]...

"It takes too long and costs too much for foreigners to learn the language and the culture! Please help us to disciple North African leaders instead," said Amar Lamamra, a North African (not his real name)... We are in a spiritual battle and Muslim people want to see miracles.  A MASSIVE PRAYER EFFORT LINKS CHRISTIANS TO IRAQIS

 Evangelical leaders announced the launch of a global prayer initiative for Iraq and DEBUNKED CRITICISM that post-war Christian relief efforts aimed to CONVERT the mostly Muslim nation to Christianity. In other words Christian's time and efforts are not going to be spent on the Great Commission that we are mandated to do by Jesus Christ but on Americanizing Iraqis.

NAE's Ted Haggard urges Christians to adopt an Iraqi city and pray for it daily. "I am asking 47 million Christians in America to pray for Iraqis. Haggard said the reconstruction of Iraq is God's idea.. Haggard said. "He wants their children to have medical care and an education. He wants them well fed. HAGGARD WANTS THEM TO WORSHIP IN FREEDOM WITHOUT INTIMIDATION [AND NOT NECESSARILY CHRISTIANITY] AND DISCUSS THE BIG ISSUES OF LIFE, FAMILY, GOVERNMENT, FAITH AND future without fear. MULTITUDE OF MUSLIMS TAKE PART IN RITUAL

 Notice that Mecca represents the same symbolism that the Vatican uses in the design of the Vatican grounds and you'll also find the Obelisk in front of or near by in a park of most capital city's governmental buildings. It represents the Masonic ecumenical spirit. Not only do we have the Obelisk but the circle around which represents the sun. In the ritual at Mecca pilgrims throw pebbles at the Obelisks in the circle which they consider to be the devil. What they are attacking in their ritual is the Masonic Order.

Mina, Saudi Arabia - by Hamza Hendawi (AP) With their annual pilgrimage so far spared the disasters of past years, thousands of Muslims streamed to this valley outside the holy city of Mecca on Saturday to pelt pebbles at three pillars representing the devil. In wave after wave, the pilgrims each threw seven tiny pebbles at the gray stone pillars as they chanted, "Allahu Akbar!" - God is great!" The ritual, which symbolizes the rejection of Satan's temptation, will be repeated today on what well officially be the pilgrimage's last day.

The pilgrimage, required of every able-bodied Muslims at least once in lifetime, is a spiritual journey that, according to tradiion, cleanses the soul and wipes away a Muslim's sins. Of the estimated 2 million that are performing this year's pilgrimage, or hajj, more than 1.3 million came from abroad. (TTT 2.24.02)

 THE JEWEL OF IRAQ

 As statues of the ruthless dictator toppled, joyous crowds danced in the streets. Baghdad was liberated, the Pentagon said. It was a bittersweet moment for many Muslims. "Bagdad is symbolic for a lot of Muslims," said Kevin Jaques, a scholar of Islam at Indiana University. "Baghdad played a fundamenal role in the development of Islamic civilization," said Khaled Abou El Fadl, and Islamic law specialist at the University of California, Los Angeles. "In an Islamic context, there's a glorious history associated with Baghdad." More than 95 % of Iraqis are Muslim. But the country's ancient history is significant to Jews and Christians as well. Iraq is considered to be the site of the biblical Garden of Eden and Ur, the birthplace of Abraham, a towering patriarchal figure in Islam, Judaism and Christianity.

Nineveh, the sinful city described in the Bible, was the capital of Assyria in the Persian Gulf region. A whalebone, considered a relic from the sotry of Jonah, hangs in the Nebi Yunus mosque near Mosul. Baghdad was established in the eighth century. It was built in a great circle as a symbol of God's unity and power. The city's original name, Dar al-Salam, means "abode of peace."

We need to remember that the history of religion is full of corrupt rulers who use their own sacred texts to justify unjust, cruel, and despotic behavior," she said. Hitler was a Christian who went awry and Saddam Hussein was a Muslim who went awry. Muslims are still holding out a great hope for Baghdad because it is too central to our history and to Muslim identity to just be forgotten and move on. There are 1.5 million Iraqis who are Christian. (TTT 5.10.03)

 EVANGELICAL LEADERS DEPLORE ANTI-MUSLIM STATEMENTS

 Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, leader of global missions agency called Islam "a very evil and wicked religion. But evangelicals do not stand behind that statement. At a meeting, evangelical leaders denounced as 'dangerous' and 'unhelpful' the anti Islam remarks made in the past year by leaders in their own movement and proposed new guidelines for churches to follow in relating to Muslims.

At the same time, the religious leaders reaffirmed their commitment to proselytizing, and they accused mainline Protestants and groups such as the World Council of Churches of holding 'naive' dialogue sessions with Muslims that minimized differences. The meeting came at a time when Christian leaders are divided about whether to coexist with Muslims or convert them.

43,000 congregations were represented by the National Association of Evangelicals and the Institute of Religion and DEMOCRACY a conservative Christian group in Washington that often critiques mainline Protestantism. In interview, Calver said that when he was working on the Iraqi border in Lebanon with the Red Crescent relief agency, Graham's comments were circulating widely. "It's used to indict all Americans and used to indict all Christians," said Calver, who is British. "It obviously puts lives and livelihoods of people overseas at risk." (TTT 5.8.03)

2 John 1:8-11 "Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds."

 EVANGELIST SOFTENS CRITICISM OF ISLAM

  Franklin Graham has softened his criticism of Islam after coming under fire for calling the religion evil. In a column is The Wall Street films were evil people, "but I decry the evil dome in the name of Islam," the Associated Press reported. The president of Samaritan's Purse and head of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association sparked a storm of protest when he called Islam "wicked and violent." His comments were disavowed by the White House, which has repeatedly said Islam is a peacful religion. (Charisma Magazine February 2002)

 ISLAMIC FANATICS HAVE STRANGE WAY TO GET TO HEAVEN

 Islamis Terrorists Say Killing 'Infidels' Is Only Way to Heaven. - Islamic terrorists who die as martyrs while waging jihad against the "enemies of God," will enter paradice instantly, their sins washed away. They believe the only sure way to heaven is to "kill the infidels" (non-Muslims, Jews, Christians). Even mainline non-terrorist Islam is a religion based on works and righteousness. The Quran anathematizes those who believe God has a Son. Of course this is a reference to the Lord Jesus, the eternal Son of God. (WorldNews 2.22.03)

 MUSLIM FAITHFUL DESCEND UPON JERUSALEM FOR RAMADAN

 November 9, 2002 Israel eased travell bans for the Muslims to come to Jerusalem. An estimated 130,000 Palestinians flocked to Muslim prayers in Jerusalem's Old City on the first Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. No clashes were reported. Al Aqsa Mosquue, Islam's third-holiest site. Friday prayers have been a focus for violence directed at Israeli police and Jewish worshipers preparing to usher in the Sabbath at the Western Wall, just below the mosque compound. 2,000 police and paramilitary were called out in case of clashes. Long lines of men filed into the cobblestoned alleyways leading to the Dome of the Rock complex, set on a hilltop that is secred to Jews, Christians and Muslims. Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting and prayer began in the middle of the week. Devout Muslims abstain from eating, drinking and smoking during daylight hours. (TTT November 9, 2002)

 CULTURE OF HATE

 By Bat Yeor, Egyptian: At the dawn of the new millennium, the world is being confronted with an absolute cutlture of hate - characterized by paroxysms of international terrorism against civillians - and religious intolerance. This culture of hate has multiple heads from Algeria to Afghanistan, to Indonesia, via Gaza and the West Bank, Damascus, Cairo, Khartoum, Teheran, and Karachi. It scatters the seeds of terrorism from one end of the earth to the other.

This hate, which suppresses freedom of thought and condemns difference, calls itself :"Islamic Jihad." I draws on religious texts whose interpretation other Muslims dispute. Moreover, because these moderate Muslims challenge this interpretation of jihad, wishing to live in peace with the non-Muslims peoples and nations of the world, their lives are threatened.

These is constant bloodshed in Algeria. Jihad is disseminating death and terror in Israel. In Southern Sudan, jihad has caused the death of some two million people, generated an even larger number of refugees, led to the enslavement of tens of thousands, and produced deadly famines.

In Indonesia, some 200,000 deaths resulted from jihad violence in East Timor. Christians have been pursued and massacred, and their churches burned down by jihadists in the Moluccas and other Indonesian islands. The death toll in these violent attacks is over 10,000, while an additional 8,000 Christians have been forcibly converted to Islam.

Atrocities are also being committed by jihadists in both the Philippines and some northern Nigerian states. Hundreds of innocent people died when jihad struck at Jewish Community Center of Buenos Aires in Argentina, and the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.

In Egypt, jihadists have massacred Copts in their churches and villages, and murdered European tourists. Christians in Pakistan and in Iran live in terror of accusations of blasphemy, which, if "proven," can yield a death sentence.

And a cataclysmic act of jihad terror resulted in the slaughter of nearly 3,000 innocent civilians of multiple faiths and nationalities in New York, on September 11, 2001. None of these victims was guilty of any crime. They were murdered and mutilated out of hate.

IT IS this hate that Israel is fighting. The Durban World Conference Against Racism - where the culture of hate was rehabilitated, not condemned - ended only three days before the jihad terror attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. When proposals were made condemning Zionism, this conference was encouraging jihad, the culture of the war against infidels, while ignoring the principles of freedom and human rights. This was negationist racism. The word "Zion," which designates the land of Israel annd its capital Jerusalem, exists in texts dating back almost three millennia.

It was the Emperor Hadrian who first called the country Palestine in 135 CE. In this Palestine, Arabic was not the common language; the Bible and not the Koran was taught; and the population was mainly Jewish. Palestine was colonized five centuries later by the Arab armies of the Islamic jihad. Many Jews were massacred at that time; others were deported to Arabia as slaves; and the whole population expropriated and reduced to the condition of dhimmis, as were all indigenous Jews and Christians in the south Mediterranean countries conquered by jihad, including those in many European countries.

Should these countries conquered by Islam - Portugal, Spain, Sardinia, Sicily, Crete, and the southern regions of France and Italy, for example - still be considered Arab Muslim lands?

Turkish jihad conquests imposed the sharia as far north as Hungary and southern Poland, and on all of central Europe within the Ottoman Empire, including regions of Greece, former Yugoslavia, Romania, and Bulgaria, until the end of the 19th century. Are those countries also to be identified as Muslim lands, in which non-Muslim inhabitants must return to the condition of dhimmis, whose testimony concerning Muslims is rejected by Islamic courts?

Will they again be required to don discriminatory garments such as the Taliban demanded of the Hindus, or be subject to the continuing prohibition on building and renovating their churches, like the Copts in Egypt?

If the liberation movement of the Jews in their ancestral homeland is interpreted as racism, then all the movements of liberation from expropriation and servitude imposed by jihad are racist. Such a stance reinstates that imperialism of the Isamic jihad, which has claimed millions of victims over three continents during more than a millennium, deported an inclaculable number of slaves, and annihilated entire peoples, destroying their history, their monuments, and their culture.

Have the Copts of Egypt a right to their history and their language? Do the Kabill of North Africa have a right to theirs? We must acknowledge all the victims of the racism that jihad creates, a racism which denies the history, sufferings, and memories of those conquered.

Arab racism consists of calling the Land of Israel Arab land, whereas no Palestinian province, village, or town, including Jerusalem, is mentioned either in the Koran or in any Arabic text before the end of the ninth century. On the cotnrary, these locations are mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, which represents the religious and historical heritage of the Jewish people.

The Bible, which tells the history of this country, tells it in Hebrew, the language of the country, and not in Arabic. Palestinian racism consists of asserting that the whole history of Israel, biblical history, is Arab, Islamic, and Palestinian history. The kings and prophets of Israel were Arab, Palestinian, and Muslim kings and prophets, as were Jesus, his family, and the apostles.

The Arabization and Islamization of the Bible thus robs not only the Jews but also the whole of Christianity of their history. New theologies of substiution are developed, transferring Israsel's heritage to Arab and Muslim Palestine.

The imperialism of jihad consists of appropriating the whole history and identity of the peoples who were conquered and thrown into the nonexistence of dhimmitude. This is a total negation of the other - a refusal to acknowledge him as an equal. Israel's battle is not a battle of colonists, as some European political circles like to claim, because Europe itself had a colonial history on all continents, which it projects on to Israel.

Similarly, Europe projects its own history of Nazism on to the Israelis, thereby revenging itself on the revelations of historians. Israel's battle is not a battle against the Muslim world, it is a battle agaisnt the unbridled hate of jihad. Israelis are struggling to maintain liberation from the yoke of dhimmitude, which was imposed in order to eradicate the Jews in their indigenous homeland. THAT IS WHY CHRISTIANS WHO REJECT THE NEW THEOLOGIES OF SUBSTITUTION ARE JOINING ISRAEL IN ITS FIGHT, AS ARE MUSLIMS WHO REFUSE TO ALLOW VALUES OF ISLAM TO BE PERVERTED BY THE IDEOLOGY OF JIHAD.

It is through this common effort that reconciliation between people can be achieved, replacing the culture of hate with a culture of friendship. (The International Jerusalem Post August 16, 2002)

GROUP PROTESTS TRIBUNE'S COVERAGE OF MUSLIMS

 Complaints targeted columnist, reporter.. by Kathy Steele - About 60 people protested against what they say is biased coverage of the Islamic community by The Tampa Tribune. The group gathered on Parker Street, across from the Tribune's offices, chanting slogans such as "Shame, shame. Stop the lies and tell the truth." POsters proclaimed, "We demand Fair Coverage" and "We Want Journalists Not Propagandists." .. Reporter Ruth's column ridiculed and attacked the Koran, prophets of Islam and the prophets' wives, said Pilar Saad, president of the United Muslim Association of Tampa Bay Women. Seven Tampa police officers monitored the protest.. Suspended University of South Florida Professor Sami Al-Arian was with protesters but wouldn't speak to the Tribune's reporter. Protesters complained that stories about Al-Arian and his brother-in-law Mazen Al-Najjar have been biased and untruthful... (TTT July 13, 2002)

 AL-ARIAN WINS BAIL HEARING DELAY

 The Tampa Tribune used 3/4 of the front page with an extra large close up profile in full color of Leena Al-Arian, 17, daughter of Sami Al-Arian, the college professor of South Florida University, who stands accused of terrorism and fundraising for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in North America and Nahla, Sami's wife. The prisoner of conscience' speaks out. Until the next hearing the accused head of fundraising and two of his seven alleged co-conspirators will remain at the Hillsborough County Jail. They are charged with multiple counts of racketeering, conspiracy and material support for terrorism for allegedly funneling money and communications to the Palestinian Jihad. In his first public statement since his arrest, Al-Aian called himself a "prisoner of conscience," comparing HIMSELF WITH JESUS, who "always questioned power and spoke out."  JOSEPH'S TOMB DEMOLISHED BY ARABS

When the patriarch Joseph was dying in Egypt, he prophesied that his family would return from Egypt to Canaan, and ordered that when it occurred his body would be carried with them and buried in his homeland. His body was embalmed in the Egyptian manner, was subsequently returned to Canaan, and was buried there, in the village of Shechem. (Shechem is today called Nablus). When Yassir Arafat's Palestinian Authority took control of Nablus in October 2000, he promised that Joseph's tomb would be protected; almost immediately, smoke was seen billowing from the tomb as Arabs burned the contents and took picks and sledgehammers to the stone building. In late February the site was again attacked, with every remaining trace demolished. Had a Muslim sacred site been "desecrated," even by being entered (or touched) by a Christian or Jew, million of Muslims would have taken to the streets in murderous mania, it would have been the lead story in all establishment news media, and the UN would have passed a resolution condemning it.
