Pastor Benny Hinn Goes to Court

to Block His Security Chief

This  article  points  out that Benny Hinn is  not  committed  to Jesus's  advice  in Matthew 5:25,26/ Luke  12:57,58  "Agree  with thine adversary quickly, while thou art in the way with him; lest at  any  time the adversary deliver thee to the  judge,  and  the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into  prison. Verily  I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out  thence, till  thou hast paid the uttermost farthing." In other words,  if you  are  a born again Christian, the prince of this  world  will hold  you  to  pay up to the nth degree. "Yea, and  why  even  of yourselves judge ye not what is right? When thou goest with thine adversary  to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give  diligence  that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale  thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and  the officer cast thee into prison."
The  fact that Benny Hinn reacted instantly to a threat from  his security  chief, and ordered the courts to relieve him  of  documents which belong to him, reminds me of the same procedure  that was  applied  to people who tried to expose  Scientologists.  The court  came  and confiscated their computers and  every  file  of people  who  had sent in their testimonies describing  the  after effects  of Scientology applications.I don't think the case  came to court.
We have accumulated newspaper articles about Henry Lyons for many months. He expects to be re-elected again in spite of the accusations of misappropriation of large amounts of church funds.
Tampa  Tribune  12.10.98: "Faith healer Benny Hinn  has  gone  to court  to block his former security chief from disclosing  financial  secrets that an adviser says could destroy  the  television ministry..  Mario Licciardello, is reportedly demanding money  to keep  silent about what he knows about allegations of  theft  and corruption at Hinn's Orlando-based Word Outreach Center.. [he] is under  a federal court order to say nothing for the time  being.. Licciardello  conducted sworn interviews with 35 former and  current  employees.. The dispute began in September when he  accused church  officials  of  destroying his  reputation  by  conducting background  check. He agreed to a routine security check,  as  is required of all 360 employees of World Outreach Church.. The  old court  papers showed Licciardello had been convicted in  1967  in New Jersey of burglary and theft. He received a pardon but he may have  served time in prison, the report said..  Licciardello  demanded   an   undisclosed  amount  of  money  for   his   damaged reputation..  The ministry could lose 30 percent of its  revenues immediately  and  potentially  lose  up  to  90  percent  of  its revenue..  THE CHURCH IS EXPECTED TO RAISE $60,000,000  IN  DONATIONS  THIS  YEAR UP FROM $50,000.000 IN 1997,  David  Brokaw,  a spokesman for Hinn said.
