"And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. And he spake many things unto them in parables,.." (Matthew 13:2,3) Notice Jesus was in a ship off shore with his disciples and they asked him why he spoke unto the crowd in parables? (v10)
"He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given." (Matthew 13:11) "Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand." (Matthew 13:13)
Apparently no even the disciples understood the parables and would not have understood if they too had just left. The disciples wanted to know the truth. ".. they came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field." (vs.36) Jesus proceeded to explain what he meant.
Jesus pointed out that the crowd was not hearing him because they were not interested in the truth. They didn't ask what he meant by the parable. They could have done it, just like the disciples who were just ordinary people.
Here is were the rubber meets the road and why Satan is able to pull the wool over many marginal Christian's eyes, even a great many successful leaders. They were too busy planning, getting, traveling to and fro, meeting people, meeting dignitaries, writing books and doing what their leaders and their constituents asks of them. They had no time for the Word of God.
I heard Dr. Billy Graham state recently in an interview that there was one thing he regretted at the eve of his life. He had little time to study the Word, which meant that he did not have a daily relationship with the Word (Jesus Christ Himself).
Dr. Billy Graham was one of the major players who brought the unity movements to where it is today. The latest update convinces us that the job is just about complete. "Evangelicals approve joint doctrine statement. "New York - leaders of Evangelical Protestantism have issued a joint statement of doctrine defining what unites the movement and what distinguishes it from other forms of Christianity.
"Among other things, the statement reaffirms the Evangelical belief that Jesus Christ "is the only way of salvation.". The Bible offers no hope that sincere worshipers of other religions will be saved without personal faith in Jesus Christ." Other Christians have promoted a more liberal and universal concept of salvation. Many of Evangelicalisms, best known figures, including religious broadcasters Jerry Fallwell, D. James Kennedy, Pat Robertson and Charles Stanley, were among the 129 signers." (The Tampa Tribune, 6.11.99)
What is wrong with that statement? you might ask. Nothing, on the surface it looks perfectly legitimate. The only reason we know what that statement is really about is, we want to know the truth and read whatever we can find on this subject matter. It doesn't take long before the complete picture emerges.
We, as believers, don't expect to be mislead by people who seem to be fighting for all the right issues: stop abortion, go to church every Sunday, tithe, stop sinning, stop smoking, drinking and drugging, stop the heavy metal music, witchcraft, yoga, adultery, lying, voting for the wrong people. Mormons preach the same issues, it is not a criteria whether we are getting the truth which will assure us a home in heaven. We stopped walking around with one eye closed and stopped rationalizing, after all what is wrong with people who mean well and seem to have everyone's best interest at heart.
There is only ONE who has our best interest at heart and He is in our house somewhere in a desk draw, on the night stand, maybe on the coffee-table or at least on the bookshelf? Have you taken a look lately? Those who have, knew instantly what I was talking about.
Someone in my family passed away and she left "it" to me, the same way she had received it from someone. The Word had never been opened, yet she expected to go to heaven because her Episcopalian priest blessed her casket with incense? she had tithed (given some donations periodically) and her friend purchased certificates to pray her out of purgatory? She lived in Las Vegas and couldn't go to church, there was no church of her denomination. Because she was Episcopalian, she would have qualified for this ecumenical movement and a pat on the back that everything is under control, rest assured.
Not many will expose the ecumenical deception. They would loose members of their congregation, prestige and admiration of their colleagues and access to the Christian arena. Their sheep are not their highest priority. It is difficult to understand on what they pin their security in eternal life in Christ Jesus. People who do put their all on the line, are shunned for telling the truth and called divisive and hateful.
Media Spotlight, vol 22 -1 "The World Christian Movement - Evangelism vs Evangelization by Albert James Dager stated: "In the churches today there are popular voices that are using Christian terms to mask an agenda of global ecumenical dimensions. The goal is to enlist the support of the majority of those who "call themselves Christians" in order to advance that agenda under the name of "world evangelization" a term originally coined by the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization" in 1974." The goal of this organization headed by Dr. Billy Graham was to evangelize "the world by the A.D. 2000 through social and political action based on a mandate to alleviate the world of its suffering."
I remember those years and didn't think there was anything wrong with evangelizing the world. They told us that Jesus wouldn't come back till the whole world had heard the message. The fact that they were really undertaking Jesus's role of alleviating the world's suffering was never mentioned.
We joined Mormons just before Lausanne "I" was developed in Switzerland. We kept listening to Evangelists like Billy Graham because we assumed Mormons were Christian and nobody said we had to stop until thirteen years later when we went through the temple ceremony. According to the temple ceremony preachers are "Lucifer's hirelings."
The Graham message was identical to the Mormon message: world evangelization. The total LDS agenda revolved around world wide missions. Temples fit nicely into this category. People who man the temples are on missions from other parts of the world, sacrificing several years of their lives serving temples without reimbursement for expenses for housing, food, gas and so forth. We discovered through hundreds of lectures about missions, that missions are about changing the world, teaching people in other parts of world a new way of life, not necessarily a godly way of life when one considers the fact that missionaries often misrepresent God's plan for our lives.
Missionaries get intimately involved with people of other lands by living with them in many cases in their homes and teaching them. They would cover whole areas with groups of missionaries, have access to people in control of cities or towns and get their assistance in getting contacts and backing that they were not too be feared. Many people come to America through the Mormon church.
Dr. Graham worked closely with political leaders in the U.S., the Pope and many other leaders integrating his or his peer's ideal world with their ideal world which is world-wide "democracy." Mormons are not selling democracy but a form of communism. Mormons commit themselves totally to the church and during the temple ceremony endow the church with everything they own if the church chooses to take them up on it. In their ideal the church redistributes to their choosing to every member what they think the member should have. Every member donates their time and talents freely to the church. This.is what I see coming with ecumenism.
"The Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization has published what it calls "Occasional Papers" address the Committee's position on various issues related to it's agenda. Occasional Paper #20 addresses "An Evangelical Commitment to Simple Life-style." In this Paper, Alan Nichols calls for a more equal distribution of wealth." .. The primary motive in the Lausanne Covenant for developing a simple life-style was the "the poverty of millions" and "the injustices which cause it." This is a Mormon message if I ever heard one. People in the church took pride in wearing old clothes so they could give more and often brought people's attention to it.
My own opinion is that most true Christians live in poverty in the U.S. even. They empty their pockets to people like Dr. Billy Graham, Benny Hinn, Ken Copeland, Oral Roberts and it is blood money I call it. The rich have not the foggiest idea of what many Christians her are going through. The glitz has blinded them. They never come down to where we live. The devil makes it difficult for believers. Believers have to be broken to become believers and that brokeness does not come from hearing altar calls and songs. It comes from hardships, tragedies, desperation for help and no-one to turn to but God.
"The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised," (Luke 4:18) Those who endure afflictions for His name's sake are His.
"The Spirit of the Lord God [is] upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound;" (Isaiah 61:1)
The meek don't get the good jobs, the brokenhearted have too many emotional problems to be a good risk for a high powered demanding job which pays good money. When they come to the Lord and commit their lives to Him, their lives don't run smooth because Satan is on their case slowing things down to discourage the believer any way he can. In fact that is the only way the Holy Spirit can develop His fruit which is being able to handle longsuffering, endurance to the end, patience, hope, love and joy in spite of problems. Believers live with opposition daily.
The other side of the coin is the fact that U.S. citizens couldn't simplify their lives if they wanted to. We citizens have been integrated into a mechanized world devoid of most of the natural phenomenon and precious gifts from God like watching baby chicks hatch and flowers peek out of the ground promising beautiful blooms. We have been set up to have to have cars in good repair which usually takes two old cars to have one running car. That calls for insurance policies and debt with interest. It is impossible to live without your own transportation unless one lives next to a few stores in the city. There is no other transportation where I live. We cannot go back to candles, nor growing our own food or pumping water out of our owns wells. It is hard to understand where these leaders are coming from. It takes every cent to just maintain some form of existence for all the people I know. I have no idea how certain evangelists manage to collect millions of dollars out of the public's purse.
These evangelists do not understand the basic Gospel which means they are talking to a different group of people. The group they are addressing are affluent success oriented positive thinkers who have geared into the people listed on their new Bible, "The Answer." This Bible was translated for our time with selected writings "advice on how to become a success" by leading inspirational authors. Some of them are traveling the country giving success building seminars which include former Presidents.
To name a few listed in the Bible "The Answer": James Dobson, Parenting Isn't for Cowards; Lynn Heitritter & Jeanette Vought: Helping Victims of Sexual Abuse; G. Edgar Rozar, Jr: Laughing in the Face of Aids; Sam Waltin: Made in America; Barbara Johnson: Splashes in the Cesspool of Life; Robert H. Schuller: Tough Minded Faith for Tender Hearted People: Zig Ziglar: Raising Positive Kids in a Negative World; Charles Colson: the Body; Mother Teresa: Words to Love by; Norman Vincent Peale: Positive Imaging: The Powerful Way to Change Your Life; Ron Blue: Taming the Money Monster: Jerry Fallwell: The New American Family: Dennis Waitley: Timing is Everything: Pat Robertson: the New Millennium and Peter Marshall: The Best of Peter Marshall.
I kid you not. There are 50 names not necessarily with a connection to preachers, but the world. Dr. Graham's name was used to advertise the Bible and his name is the first one listed. Scripture references have been deleted. How can anyone interpret Scripture with Scripture without references. There are no scriptural explanations of any kind.
Coming from the Lausanne Perspective, evangelism has become evangelization. To coin evangelism which is supposed to be one of the purposes of the church. It is about spreading the pure Word of God and discipling believers.
Evangelization is parallel to a political slogan "Christianizing" the world. It is called the world to become people of faith. Faith to which god seem irrelevant. The message is brotherly love, unity, we are all one. Since this message is 180 degrees from God, we have to examine it thoroughly to insure that we are not on the broad road too.
"Ecumenism is therefore a strategy to achieve dominion over all religions and who is behind that but the Pope. Dr. Graham negotiated with the Pope, with policiticians world-wide to move his agenda into the global framework of the United Nations and the World Council of Churches.
"Moving parallel in time and progress with the new evangelical movement of the 1940s, planning and negotiations were proceeding in Vatican circles for global religious unity. Strategy called for ecumenism or church unity to be discussed by the Church's pope, cardinals and bishops. As a result, the Vatican II Ecumenical Council was called to begin its first session in the fall of 1963. In his opening speech, Pope John XXIII admitted that past efforts to achieve unity through force of arms had failed. In announcing a change of methods, the Pontiff said:
""The Church has always opposed these errors. Frequently she has condemned them with the greatest severity. Nowadays, however, the Spouse of Christ prefers to make use of the medicine of mercy rather than that of severity... That being so, the Catholic Church, raising the torch of religious truth by means of the Ecumenical Council, desires to show herself to be the loving mother of all, benign, patient, full of mercy and goodness toward the Brethren who are separated from her." (The Document of Vatican II, p.716)
"The process of ecumenism was spelled out by Pope John's successor at the Council, Pope Paul VI. He called for the elimination of "words, judgments and actions" which hinder "mutual relations". Then comes "dialogue" through which "Christians should work together in the use of every possible means to relieve the afflictions of our times, such as famine and natural disasters, illiteracy and poverty, lack of housing and unequal distribution of wealth. (Ibid., pp.. 347-355)
".. the mask of the evolving ecumenical Trojan Horse reveal[s] a shocking fact. The Catholic Church is now an active component of the New World Order's religious unit. As such, the counterfeit church is a working partner of International Communism. This startling conclusion is strongly reinforced and increasingly so by ongoing events.
"The New Evangelicalism [Evangelization] is a theological and moral compromise of the deadliest sort. It is an insidious attack upon the Word of God. No more subtle menace has confronted the Church of Christ since the Protestant Reformation.. because it is in some instance championed by men who for years have been known as Bible-believing evangelicals. Some of these men were once defenders of the faith. They have gained the multitude who will be slow to believe that their views have changed.. (The New Evangelicals, by Charles Woodridge, p.7)
"Mr. Graham particpated at World Council meetings in Evanston, Boston, Geneva and New Dehli. The evangelist's earlier opposition to Communism slowed to a stop as the 1960s began. Billy Graham's evangelism is baffling and haunting: 1. "There is to be no proselytizing.. "(proselytize: to make a convert of - Webster's New Twentieth Century Unabridged Dictionary) 2. "It does not include freedom to persuade and convert" (The Soviet Constitution on religious freedom) .." (Under the New World Order, Evangelicals, Catholics and Israel, by Wilson Ewin, Quebec Baptist Mission Feb. 1996 pp. 61-63)
Billy Graham was under the influence of Dr. Henrietta Mears who was pastored by D.R.Riley. In fact he received her mantle by laying on of hands as well as Riley's mantle. Henrietta spearheaded the group who eventually founded the Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.
The school started out on a fundamental platform but through C. Peter Wagner and his ideas about demonic strongholds and the late John Wimber's supernatural doctrine of Manifested Sons of God, restoration of offices and apostles and prophets, and dominion theology and last but not least their School of Psychology which developed Christian Psychology, produced a major change in the Christian arena.. The School of Missions in process mobilizing for world evangelization, the staff of Fuller School of World Missions went to Korea in 1995 to learn about the cell church movement from David (nee Paul) Yongi Cho. (see Media Spotlight, Vol. 22 - No. 1 p.10)
"Bill Bright, Walter Martin, Richard C. Halverson, John L. Franck, Jim Rayburn, Louis H. Evans, Jr., Collen Townsend, Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Tim Spencer and Connie Haines were pasrticipants of verious organizations linked to Dr. Mears, a former high school teacher who developed a form of organized religion. "While Bill Bright was able to start with a ready-made network of college campus meetings, Graham went into every major city under the auspices of Armin Gesswein's prayer meetings. Almost from the beginning, Graham would not accept any invitation to preach where ecumenical representation - including Roman Catholic clergy - was not present. That is still his policy." (Media Spotlight - Vol.22-No. 1 p.10)
That brings to mind Kathryn Kuhlman from whom Benny Hinn received his mantle and acknowledges that he still communicates with her, although she has been dead for many years [communication with the dead is not condoned by God]. Kuhlman insisted that Catholics were seated in the front row to make sure they were present in her meetings. She was proud of her interview with the Pope in Rome. The Charismatic movement, headed by Kathryn and Oral Roberts permeated most all denominations as the most unifying factor. It opened doors of the churches to let the river of false spiritual manifestations bring curiosity seekers from church to church to participate in the ever escalating excitement of a false revival and super large congregations internationally.
Trinity Broadcasting Network was an offspring of Oral Roberts "Christianizing" the world without discrimination as to who preaches or what is preached, or what music is presented and all in the name of their god.: the god of ecumenism.

The various new layers such as the Toronto blessing, Pensacola, "Christian" Rock, Word Faith, Seed Faith, the Power of Positive Thinking, Christian Psychology, Manifest Sons of God, Dominion Theology, Spiritual Warfare, the River, Maryology, too many to identify, have spread through the world twisting the Word of God, changing the message.
