Disney

They call it the gates of hell in certain circles

Leaders of the 15.9 million-member Southern Baptist  denomination have  not laid to rest their boycott of the Walt Disney Co. They went so far as to publish a book "Send a Message to Mickey: The ABCs of Making Your Voice Heard of Disney," (Rev. Richard  Land, Broadman & Holman). Rev. Land is president of the  denomination's Nashville- based Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. Land's book is supposed to provide historical and theological justification for boycotts, and details Baptist objections to Disney.  We believe this struggle is not about morals but about the Constitution. The harder the moral majority comes against the elements in question,  the more powerful the opposition becomes,  or  haven't they  noticed.  We are to expose false doctrine not the world's behavior. The world is nothing but sin, or so we thought.
Christians are to separate from the world. We are to become holy and sanctified. How does one do that in this war with homosexuals.

Flip Benham, director of the anti-abortion group Operation  Rescue,  led an army of Christian activists to Orlando the  week  of May 31, 98 to protest at abortion clinics, bookstores and Disney World.  It purposely coincided with Gay Day, when tens  of  thousands of gays and lesbians traditionally come to the Disney  theme parks  for an extended weekend of fun and socializing. He calls Disney the "Gates of Hell".
The  plan was to include daily demonstrations at four area  abortion clinics. Barnes & Noble Booksellers were also targeted. The response was 120 police officers assigned  to patrol targeted clinics to prevent possible fights which would make arrests necessary.
Today  Texas Education (didn't get the whole name) sold $45  million Disney stock which prompted the media to ask if we are going to have more of this. Is the stock market going to be driven  by the culture war? Interesting question. They proudly reassured the listeners that Hollywood is not in agreement with conservatives, as if that would save everything.
