IS THE ANTICHRIST HERE?

"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." (Revelation 12:7-9) Here we are told that the devil is able to deceive the whole world. That is a sad commentary on the abilities of most men to discern good from evil. It is shocking that people can be so easily deceived..

"And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. (Revelation 12:10,11) J.R. Church addressed the political arena in a very unique way and I thought it might be worthwhile to share with you. It may vent some of your feelings.

He writes: "A couple of years ago, I delivered a lecture, Tickling the Tail of the Dragon. The idea conveyed was that if you tickle the tail of a sleeping dragon, you stand a chance of being roasted and eaten. There is nothing as mean as an angry dragon.. Does the dragon go after the liberal news media? Does he go after the politicians who promote his cause? No. He descends upon those who refuse to be taken in by the nightly drumbeat of the liberal press.. He goes after the "saints." In Revelation 13, we are told about a world government that emerges from the sea of humanity. This global entity is described as a metaphoric "beast," of which its body parts are symbolic - each symbolic of some facet of the body politic:

"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast." (Revelation 13:1-2)

"Many theologians equate this beast with its leader - the antichrist. Since one of its heads is "wounded to death," ministers have long preached that the antichrist will receive a fatal wound. This literal view of the passage is not consistent with the metaphoric nature of the context. It may not be a physical wound at all. Since the "head" is metaphor for a political office, the deadly wound may simply be a thwarted attempt to remove him from his high office.

"According to Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, the Greek term for "heads," kefalay, comes from the root word kapto, which is used in the sense of "seizing." Another form of the, kefalahyon refers to "a principle thing." I am not trying to make a case in favor of a political coup as opposed to an assassination attempt, but it seems to me that either could be in view.

"In Revelation 13:14, we are informed that his deadly wound is caused by a sword: "And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by [the means of] those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live." (Revelation 13:14)

"The Greek term used for "sword" is machaira which, according to Strong's, not only means a "sword, " but "judicial punishment" as well. Considering the metaphoric sense of the context, the failed impeachment of Bill Clinton at least fits the type of situation implied in the text.

"Once the wounded head is healed, it is clear that any further attempt to kill the head of this beast is futile. At this point, there is no stopping him: "And they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshiped the beat, saying, Who [is] like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? (Revelation 13:4) The beast is empowered with a new sense of authority. He survives his "deadly wound" and is promoted to become the spokesman for the beast - by the dragon, himself. He moves from being one of seven to being the leading spokesman for the world entity:

"And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months." (Revelation 13:5) The "mouth" in this verse is also metaphoric. It refers to a position as spokesman for the new world entity. It appears to be something which he did not previously possess. By the way, Bill Clinton has made it known that he wants to become the Secretary-General of the United Nations after he leaves office. Once given this "mouth," he launches into blasphemy against the saints..

" I do not know if Bill Clinton is the man that Daniel and John wrote about, but, if we are as close to the beginning of the Tribulation Period as many theologians believe, he certainly fits the mold. As I consider politicians around the world as possible candidates, I can think of no reason why he should not be the man of the hour. Does Bill Clinton have a divine appointment with destiny? Only time will tell. There are many who wonder how he was able to escape justice.

"On February 18, 1999, Philip Vollman published an article on the Internet about his frustration with Bill Clinton. His subject: Is Bill Clinton Divine?" After watching Mr. Clinton wiggle out of dozens of women; after watching him compromise the House and the Senate; after watching him get away with Waco, Vince Foster's death, Filegate, Travelgate, Monicagate, Chinagate, the death of Ron Brown and scores of others; after watching his poll numbers rise after every new revelation of sordid behavior, I have come to a new conclusion: Bill Clinton must be a god!"

"He has feminists who say they exist to protect woman from sexual predators and sexual harassment making excuses for him! He has the media of America in his hip pocket more so than Hitler controlled the German press! He had men like Senator Robert Byrd, that pretentious protector of the U.S.Senate, lead the charge for dismissal! Is this guy good or what?

"Perhaps I have been wrong about many things? Maybe oral sex, isn't sex after all? Maybe being faithful to my wife for the past 26 years has been kind of prudish? Maybe the Ten Commandments are an ethical standard that is "out of touch" with the American people? Presidential kneepads? What's so bad about that, if it's his private life? Boy have I been a prude!

"So what is it? Is Billy Boy divine? Do I worship the wrong God? Perhaps a lying tongue lasts for more than a moment? Perhaps a lying tongue can last for two consecutive terms in the White House? Have I been misled? Are Carville, Begala, Geraldo, and Blumenthal some sort of angels sent to earth to usher in a new moral code?

"Can someone help me, I am confused? What shall I teach my seven year old daughter about right and wrong now that the Senate says there is no such thing as right and wrong.?"

"Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all." (Daniel 11:37)

"No man could survive the political fire storm that hit Bill Clinton without some kind of spiritual help - albeit not from angels. Many calling Clinton "the comeback kid."

J.R.Church continues: "And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter." (Isaiah 59:14)

"Should we be tickling the tail of the dragon, knowing full well what it might cost us? Of course! Let us stand firm against evil. Let us do all we can while we can to warn the world about the coming days of judgment. Let us win as many people to Christ as we can." (Prophecy in the News, Truth is Fallen in the Street, April 1999)

Oh, I almost forgot, about the Antichrist. Is the Clinton scenario a possibility at all? No. Fourteen facts about the Antichrist is that his is king of Babylon (Isaiah 14:4); the wicked (Isaiah 14:5; 11:4; 2Thess. 2:8); supreme power of rulers (Isaiah 14:5); and destroyer of people (Isaiah 14:6); ruler of nations (Isaiah 14:6; Rev. 17:2-17); persecutor of saints (Isaiah 14:6' Rev.13); oppressor of earth (Isaiah 14:16); conqueror of nations; scourge of the earth (Isaiah 14:17,20); destroyer of cities (Isaiah 14:17); unmerciful to captives; betrayer and murderer of his own people (Isaiah 14:20); the Assyrian (Isaiah 14:25. Micah 5:1-8) and oppressor of Israel (Isaiah 14:25).

The following verse is an additional description. No other person mentioned in prophecy matches this description except the Antichrist (cf. Rev. 13:4-18). However, the prophecy does not end without revealing the doom to the Antichrist (v.17). (note on Zechariah 11:15-17 p 1166 KJV)

"Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword [shall be] upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened." (Zechariah 11:17)
